pe mine recunosc ca ma cam deranjeaza albul asta spart, eu as fi incercat sa-l estompez cumva, poate chiar as fi decupat o idee din stanga. mi-ar fi placut, de asemenea, sa vad mai clar ce este dincolo de geam (banuiesc niste cladiri si mult cer) macar in interiorul lentilei. ideea de spionaj ar fi sustinuta mai bine. compozitia imi place.

Hansi - the film was scanned this exact way, with the holes on the lower side, because the upper part had a huge disgraceful light leak and this was the only way to get rid of it without cropping. Never intend them to stand as "remains" of a photograph, but it's a interesting way of seeing things.

Lily - channel mixer, selective color, brightness, contrast, saturation plus texturizer-canvas. cheap tricks, but i got what i wanted.

frumos subiectul, cred ca e acelasi din shake dreams, culorile sunt reci, distante, in schimb imi place mult cum ti-a plouat pe obiectiv.
copacul e chiar fotogenic, mai foloseste-l.

prima senzatie e aceea de a indrepta imaginea, apoi imi pare ca obiectivul a fost acoperit cu tifon (faina idee, merita exploatata) sau poate printr-un gard. culorile sunt superbe. daca silueta ar fi fost mai putin concreta, usor pierduta printre linii, s-ar fi potrivit mai bine ideii din titlu.

i don't think i've ever tried to make anything look like the work of a specific photographer (famous or not), maybe just involuntary. i probably have in the back of my mind a little of everything that i've seen and liked and i combine it with my own style (if any) and then apply it to my work. the processing is always done according to my mood at the time, i usually don't have a plan or a specific idea in my mind. this photo would look different if processed any other day, in fact i've ignored it completely til now. it's part of the same photo shot as "under the spell", just a different way of looking at it. so there's not going to be a series. or, who knows...

si aici e noapte, imi place silueta pe care mi-o inchipui in dreapta, faine culori.
cred ca mi-ar fi placut mai mult daca linia care desparte cele doua fotografii ar fi fost abia conturata, aproape invizibila. eventual chiar suprapuse imaginile... zic si eu.

the simplicity in composition, light and toning gives a very strong feeling to the image. i think the title is just too much in this case, the photo speaks for itself clear enough. nevertheless, very good result overall, james..

Hansi, spacial thanks to you for being around all the time , it's always interesting (to say the least) seeing my photos through your eyes.
Hamdy, traveling was never easy for me, but since we're on the subject, I can tell you that Morocco and India have been on top of my "must-see" list for a while now. Hopefully someday...

I also find the background a little distracting in this particular case. I can crop some parts out, but I don't think it will help the overall image. So I'll leave it the way it is. For now.
