Great composition and capture, David. There is only one thing that bothers me somewhat, and that is that the woman's clothes and hair are so dark that the face feels like it is a face that could have been added to a silhouette of a person. She has an almost marionette feel to her, and this is enhanced by the verticals of the light fixture above her head. So I would prefer to see just a little more detail in her clothes. Other than that, it's a very well done portrait. Steve

I love the effect of pushing the film, very concentrated black and white. Because the woman's legs are against the bright white floor I feel my eyes are more diverted here rather than to her face because of the massive contrast, maybe it could have been improved by bringing her forward a step or two. I like the repetitive detail of the ceiling and how she is seemingly finding it as interesting as I am! Over all its a great image, well done! Katy

Hi David,
"It's all about feelings", according to your bio. And I do think the feel in this one is very present and quite strong, but a feeling which is also quite difficult to describe / place. I think I go for style more than fashion, though.
The hard contrast creates a very unreal and somewhat uncomfortable feeling. The woman, seemingly out of place in this urban scenery, looking around as if searching for the way only emphasises that feeling.
The composition is very well balanced, good use of diagonals and the division of dark areas, boxing in the overexposed part in the middle is great! I'd get rid of the triangle in the top left colour, though. a sole blemish on an otherwise very powerful shot.
Cheers,
Hugo

I really do like this image, the burnt out exposure really compliments the location and atmosphere of the image and the young girl's look suggests that there is another element to the image outside of the frame. My only criticism is that the image is very straightforward- it looks nice but it would be better if there was some action or movement somewhere within the frame.

Hey, Looks to me like it was a tough exposure with the right hand side blown out, but you might be going for this effect i dont know? I dont really have anything to offer except for the poles aren't dead on horizontal (at least thats what my tired eyes are tellin me) but yeah thats only a sliht nit pick Otherwise you've got a nice depth of field going on here..

Dramatic and unpredictable image. The two hotspots in the eyes rob you of super drama. Lose the bottom reflections and see the difference. There is also a light area in the bcakround that does not contribute to your story here. Very attractive angle. Karl

I like the contrasty look from pushing the film. Given the patterns in the lighting and textures of the station you have a great environment to photograph in. I like the tension created by the static and moving individuals. Very neat shot.
