I think your work is quite possibly the best I've seen in "Usefilm". Great individual style with some of the most interesting (good) composition.

Nicely Done David . . . a tad soft (for MY taste) but I can see the appeal in this presentation. Congrats for the award!

Magnifique. Sensual leaving space for imagination. The cross development played with colors and constrant to the right point. Looks like a frame from a special meeting. Congratulations!

Hi David,
Very interesting mix between a snapshot and a lifestyle capture. I like the high PoV, making the kid look so small. The nondescript background also works well - good lifestyle capture.
I think this photo would do better in a series of images than as as stand alone, though. Looking at your portfolio, I think a series of this one and a few others like http://www.usefilm.com/image/1116262.html would make each of these photos stronger as they're placed in a context. Still, very creative photo, and a novel approach.
Cheers,
Hugo

This image is stunning! I cant believe only one person has comented on it, the colour and the tone make the kitchen look fab...cross processing can look weird sometimes but it looks great here I wanna see more like this one! Katy

Amazing colours, love the split shadow and the vacant expression on her face, it's beautiful. The colours are all so different and look quite unusual, like the film has been pushed, it looks awsome, the colours all compliment each other, and compliment the subject matter, nice one Katy

I had a look at your portfolio and thought much of your work is imaginative very interesting to look at. I do not think this shot is nearly as good as them. there is nothing to draw you in. The boy isn't looking at us or anything interesting. He's so far away and so centered. The location doesn't have anything to offer. I hope I don't seem to harsh but this shot doesn't even compare with the rest of your work.

very good...
The split... heavy use of light and shadow, they drive an intensity here that is not reality, this is good... it helps bring a surreal and darker touch to a very normal scene that otherwise, would be mundane.

Great composition and capture, David. There is only one thing that bothers me somewhat, and that is that the woman's clothes and hair are so dark that the face feels like it is a face that could have been added to a silhouette of a person. She has an almost marionette feel to her, and this is enhanced by the verticals of the light fixture above her head. So I would prefer to see just a little more detail in her clothes. Other than that, it's a very well done portrait. Steve
