Indeed, like a painting. I'm not so sure about contrast, maybe some colorizing or texture. The little girls ar beatiful.

There is something special about the light at the beginning and the end of the day. Colors appear that we rarely see. This is beautiful.

Eerie! She seems to be a legless floating apparition. I know that sounds gruesome, but she is more ethereal than gruesome. Use of B&W and limited lighting makes this a powerful portrait.

The child's inquisitive nature, and the mother's devotion, are beautifully captured. I would not use so vivid a color scheme. To me it pulls the eye away from the central emotion of the portrait.

Strong attractive primary colors well framed. I especially like the way the wispy clouds on the right seem to emphasize the angularity of the structures.
