Thanks for your constructive criticism. I was trying to go for a "random colored portion" feel to the picture. My goal was not to drive attention into the girl but rather for there to be subtle life breathing in from the background. I guess it stood out too much and you're right, it does kind of take away from the man with the birds. Perhaps I should change the title to "girl with the pink shirt" :)

Hey Shelby, thanks. Ya I had to get the two subjects to stand perfectly still for the 15 second exposure. The one on the left did a good job, but the one on the right needed some careful post-sharpening. :)

Yeah, I had to put the greyscale image down to 16bit in order to add the coloured leaves. Do you know any other way to do it? The image here evidently suffered quality loss, but it added a nice vintage effect.
