When I see an image like this of the beach with the crystal clear waters my first thought is how beautiful, clear and pure this place is.

Then I have to stop and think how the beaches are where I live and what the environment has done to our waters.

We should all do all we can to keep our oceans clean. They should all look like this paradise here.

why do people on this site think its ok to take someone elses posting, fiddle with it and repost it? give advice sure but don't directly alter their work.

Nice portrait...the only thing that I would have done differently is to move the subjects a little further out from the colorful background....then you would be able to blur it and your subjects would stand out against the background a little more, otherwise it looks great. Todd

Matt, very nice portrait. I like your B/W conversion. The gap on the right of the guy makes the shot uneven. Corp that out.

Matt, interesting shot. Good action. I hope this is a passer-bye volunteer firefighter and he pulled out his personal fire extinguisher!! I sure hope he not step of the engine with no SCBA and only a CO2 fire extinguisher. At least he has his turnouts on.

The compo is interesting, but i would have liked to have seen a slightly different angle.

Its very retro in B+W, i quite like it. Maybe a repost of the original version would be good.

Creative work, well done!

I like the composition...I think colour would be nice, and also getting rid of the person in the top right. You could even just clone him/her out and turn it black.

Cheers,
Marc

this is a nice creative idea,Matt, but in my opinion it would work better in color - and the composition is a bit 'weak' ;-)

Haha, nice title, I certainly agree... both for you and your electricity provider... we are such consumers these days... with that thing ticking over even when we're not at home.

I think your photo could look better in b&w and also taken from a side perspective rather than straight onto it.... having the circular energy calculator in focus and in macro and the horizontal pole going out to the side going into the distance becoming less focussed.

Id love to see you do it... the plastic covering could make it look extra cool. I wish I had a meter like yours myself so I could do this.

Hi Matt,

The composition is OK, be aware that the photograph is tilting to the right. This could and should be corrected in photoshop.

Notice that detail has been lost on both of his arms and face from over exposing.

Your portfolio has a nice selection of different types of subjects! Keep up the good work.
