Omar, I think this is very near classic imagery. I like the directional lighting and the emphasis it puts on the diagonal flow of her form. This helps create a really introspective mood.

However, I think a full stop darker and a drop back in contrast would enhance the mood further. A tighter crop would also get rid of the hard seam on the backdrop which runs counter to the free flow of the folds.

PS Love the M645 - which lens?

Ahh..another damsel in distress!

Nice execution, no pun intended.

This vehicle looks just like a burgundy 1934 Ford Cabriole that belongs to a friend of mine. I think the price in '34 was $640. He had to have the generator rebuilt a couple of years ago at a cost of $850.

Nice nostalgic image.

This is beautiful imagery. I was a bit surprised that it was the 20-35 mm. The optical performance is quite impressive for this focal length.

I would have thought 100-200 mm range. Very impressive.

Super image, Sheila.

Can you imagine how much goes into creating these displays?

As for myself, I prefer the king crab over the dungeness. But my sister-in-law says the dungeness is to die for...

Once again, great location...great model...great smile.

My only thought here ... she needs a great pair of sunglasses just to take a little strain off the eyes.

Always a great prop...a real plus.

Excellent graphics...and sharpness.

What I find interesting is that you used the 60mm macro which to date lacks VR...with exceptional results.

This is the kind of imagery marketing people love.

I have a personal experience with this vehicle and I must say -- pound for pound -- it was the most fun for the money. I drove it through snow storms and over snowbanks -- did 360's on fields of ice, intentionally -- drove directly through mud bogs, right past a Range Rover, which was bottomed out. The trick to driving in the mud -- keep the wheels as straight as possible.

The Range Rover was fine after they brought in a Land Rover Defender 90 and used the winch to pull it out. I think the worst part about the mud was it took 2 weeks to get it all cleaned off, but it was kind of a badge of honor.

I think they ended production of this model in 2000 or 2001, which I thought was a mistake. But now it appears that they have brought it back -- on steroids -- with the Jeep Commander.

My Cherokee was a red 2-door sport 4x4. I think that in the future we will stick with 4 doors. I like the lines on the 2-door, but it turned out not be very practical.

Once again, great imagery, Hussam.

Excellent retro imagery. The shallow dof really works well for the background. It compliments the point of focus on the young woman so well.

Great series.

Awesome display of the forces of mother nature vs. man. Excellent image.

Question: According to your "about" you were using a 28-90 mm lens. The image was taken with at a focal length of 45 mm. This means you were extremely close.

I am guessing you were on the lead boat and he is positioning to steal your wind in order to become the lead boat....

It's not where you are, but who you're with, metaphorically speaking. Although this is a pretty nice place for "where you are"!

If that is the San Andreas Mt. range behind them, it would appear that you are shooting west -- in mid-afternoon with soft cloud coverage.

Excellent lighting and composition.

Classic image. What makes it stand out most for me is the foreground with the dramatic feeling of the undercurrents from the tidal surge.

I know from experience, because I was encouraged to dive in by my older brother, who assured me it was not a big deal. Near panic set in very quickly as I was in way over my head.

It's been quite a few years and I have not done that since. Needless to say, I have gained a lot of respect for the East River.

I thought to myself, what a great still life. Bur then again, with all the display of motion and energy in the splash, it goes a bit beyond still life.

The reflections of red at the top of the glass and the concentric rings at the base really give it a nice feel.

Martin, this image has such an indelible quality. It is like an ad for the Discovery Channel. When you are a kid it is sometimes difficult to listen to your mom, being life is filled with so much adventure. This photo has so much going for it.

When I was a kid I never thought of using a stick as a wave-form generator. This just covers everything -- from Archimedes to Newton.

The mountain bike is a perfect example of conservation of angular motion. Just think of where we would be if Archimedes had a bike like that.

Once again, wonderful image. Regards, Bill

The color quality and subject matter give this a retro, fine art feel, Jacques.

A shot like this would also work well in BW.

Either way, a very fine image.

Jacques, of the series -- this is my favorite. I think the high angle enhances the composition and creates a feeling of motion.

The nice plus, I think, is she looks 20-something. She really is 20-something, right? 7+

I love the frame within the frame within the frame -- what creative directors might call "the bigger picture".

Also love the fact that you kept the shadow of the easle -- nice touch.

Thank you, jacques, for your comment. It's all about the Stratocaster, after all. My main concern was hand placement. Hands featured in a photograph can always be challenging. The model herself was very aware of this. So we put Bob Seger's "Night Moves" on...and just let her do her best air guitar. It seems to have worked out well.

I'm attaching a slightly different view...less the colors.

Thank you for your suggestion, Andre.

As you can see by the attachment, I do feel that the absense of the small ring improves the overall image.

I appreciate your interest.

Bow Bridge, a New York classic. In the fall Central Park is at its most colorful, in my opinion.

Nicely crafted image.
