great work. i knew it was HDR as soon as I looked at it. they really do stand out if they're processed properly. only managed to do one myself so far, but hope to keep trying in the future.

Very nice, peaceful, tranquil feeling exuded by this image. Your trip has paid off (again). Perhaps next year I'll come back to Canada and do some photography in places like this. I really do miss seeing this type of scenery.

You wont see these paper umbrellas in use too often here, outside of some ceremonial use. Most women and some men do carry ordinary umbrellas around all the time though, for use in rain and to keep the sun off of them.

That is an impressive capture of some very powerful clouds off in the distance. Great backdrop for the city skyline.

nice depth of field in this one. the border is fine i think, all a matter of taste of course. the colours are definitely very nice, very pleasing to the eye.

Nothing to critique really... its just a nice image to look at. Your style is consistent and recognizable Fabio.

Hi Alfredo, this is almost postcard material (beautiful colours). Very nice (just a few small spots in the sky I would clone out).

Thanks for sharing this one ~ James

Hi John, at first glance, I thought this might be an HDR image, but now I see you merely switched the sky around with another image. You succeeded as the effect is quite nice.

Hi Ambenis, nice candid street shot here. More insight into Albanian life is something I'm definitely interested in.

Keep up the good work ~ James

Patterns in nature indeed! I think something like this could be a screensaver for the computer. I would like to know what it might be.... Nicely done, and quite different style from most other members of UF.

Very interesting, a "where's waldo" photo. I need to try this in China, there are certainly enough crowds around here.

Hi Rino. You have got some very nice images in this portfolio, and I particularly like this one. I've got a few images of butterflies and they're not always easy to photograph.

Well done ~ James

Interesting place for a cross. I like the contrast between the white snow and deep blue sky. I would have run this through neat image (free download if you didnt know vandy) just to reduce the noise a bit in the sky (at least it appears noisy on my monitor). nice image nonetheless ~ James

Looks like A Chinese umbrella. Beautiful and soft colours here. I can find these umbrellas everywhere I look over here but have yet to photograph any of them.

The Chinese character for umbrella is 傘 ("san" in pinyin), which itself looks like an umbrella.

Usually when I see part of an image desaturated, its only a small part of the image. This must have taken a bit of work Alison.

Nice glimpse into Guatemalan life.

Hi Jacques. Lovely colours throughout. It's almost that time of year again, I'll look forward to some nice images from Canada yet again (wish I was there to actually take the photos).

Hi Len, I love old images as well, and just thought I'd take a few minutes to fix this one up a little bit (nothing serious here, just a few minutes).

I took some time in the past to repair some damaged photos of my family from many years ago, and it was time well spent.

Take care ~ James

Hi Sascha. This is a very nice composition, and its clear that you're a very capable photographer and artist.

It also must be nice to be in possession of at least three (by my count) very good cameras.

I'll enjoy seeing more of your work here on UF from now on. Warmest regards ~ James

The image above was taken at the end of July 2008, the image attached in this comment was taken in mid-June 2005. You can see the difference a month makes in this region. Both images were taken from (nearly) the same spot, although it took me awhile to find it this time around since it looked quite different.

The image attached here is also in my portfolio (somewhere in the middle).

Hi Jim. I've seen this place myself (no photos of St Basil's unfortunately) and this is a very good image (Moscow is full of wonderful architecture, although the history behind some of it is rather grim). This image is very sharp and has excellent colours. Well done.

When I see an image I'm not sure of, I always try to guess what it is I'm looking at, and I'm usually wrong. But in this case, I was almost right. I suspected it was a plant growing out of a wall.

The deep blue colour really looks great Alison.

I wanted to be the first to comment on this lovely, almost Victorian looking portrait but I'm having problems with the interweb here in China...

at any rate, I do like this serene looking image of this elderly lady who seems to not have a care in the world. Nice portrayal.

Warmest regards ~ James
