hi tracy. first of all, nice shot here. i love the beach and the turquoise blue waters that some of these places have. in this photo it would be nice to see a bit more of the sky, too closely cropped at the top i think, and maybe (even tho a lot of people dont like to do it) clone out that white blotch at top centre. looks like some kind of structure or something. but detracts from the loveliness of the photo.

good work again craig. you've got about enough different fuji shots to make your own coffee table book. well done and it gives me impetus to concentrate on different aspects of the same object now. hopefully i can come up with something.

hi. there's a spot just under the bird.... not sure what it is but could be removed with the clone/healing tool in PS. a faster shutter speed would freeze the wings more as well. otherwise great shot.

hi mark... i had your email address but i cant find it. if you would be kind enough to send it to me i'll send you some ideas on china. in fact, i'm thinking of going up to yangshuo in the next week or so to try the 1-2 hour balloon rides over the area. that would be special.

nice concept and i love beach scenes. May I suggest that you just clone out the odds and ends that are floating about in the sand in the foreground? I know a lot of people dont like to process their photos in that way, but it is more aesthetically pleasing.

regarding laura's comment, with macro its hard to put two parts of the photo that are close together into the same focus. thats just the way macro seems to work.

hi allen. i just noticed this photo and have to comment that it is a wonderful shot of some lovely mountains. the colours complement one another immensely. however, theres a dark smudge in the top left corner that you may not have noticed. not sure of the source of that.

thanks alison. it never occurred to me to get rid of the white material in the photo. i honestly didnt think this one was going to turn out and i was more worried about that item the girl was holding in her hand. unlike a lot of photos people pose for in various parts of china (and other places), this one doesnt include anyone doing anything unnatural (flashing fingers in a "v" sign, unusual faces and so on).
i only wish i had taken more photos of these two young ladies but i was running short on time and they were actually busy inside the tent preparing some interesting dishes for our small group previously. my short experience inside the nomads tent is one i wont soon forget.

looks similar to the area in greater tibet that i'm just getting ready to leave. loads of horses and rolling hills but here, they're surrounded by some very high mountains.
