hi tracy. first of all, nice shot here. i love the beach and the turquoise blue waters that some of these places have. in this photo it would be nice to see a bit more of the sky, too closely cropped at the top i think, and maybe (even tho a lot of people dont like to do it) clone out that white blotch at top centre. looks like some kind of structure or something. but detracts from the loveliness of the photo.

take care ~ james

the sunflower is among the most beautiful and colourful of flowers. this is one of the best sunflower shots on UF. good work again. james

good work again craig. you've got about enough different fuji shots to make your own coffee table book. well done and it gives me impetus to concentrate on different aspects of the same object now. hopefully i can come up with something.

nice shot, can even see some fish in the water. a bit grainy tho, but in a way it looks like an old post crd, so maybe thats not a bad thing.

hi. there's a spot just under the bird.... not sure what it is but could be removed with the clone/healing tool in PS. a faster shutter speed would freeze the wings more as well. otherwise great shot.

you've got an interesting style.... one not often seen here on UF. just wondered how you did this type of shot?

hi mark... i had your email address but i cant find it. if you would be kind enough to send it to me i'll send you some ideas on china. in fact, i'm thinking of going up to yangshuo in the next week or so to try the 1-2 hour balloon rides over the area. that would be special.

take care ~ james

good action shot. actually the sport shown here is called kite-boarding. one of my acquaintances has two schools for learning it in thailand.

nice concept and i love beach scenes. May I suggest that you just clone out the odds and ends that are floating about in the sand in the foreground? I know a lot of people dont like to process their photos in that way, but it is more aesthetically pleasing.

Best wishes. james

regarding laura's comment, with macro its hard to put two parts of the photo that are close together into the same focus. thats just the way macro seems to work.

pretty good shot i'd say. can't pick out any problems with it really. nice colours. good idea to write poems or other text to accompany a photo. that would make a nice gift for someone.

hi allen. i just noticed this photo and have to comment that it is a wonderful shot of some lovely mountains. the colours complement one another immensely. however, theres a dark smudge in the top left corner that you may not have noticed. not sure of the source of that.

very well done and well deserving of the award. colours complement one another and this almost seems like an optical illusion (which line is longer type of illusion). great work. james

thanks alison. it never occurred to me to get rid of the white material in the photo. i honestly didnt think this one was going to turn out and i was more worried about that item the girl was holding in her hand. unlike a lot of photos people pose for in various parts of china (and other places), this one doesnt include anyone doing anything unnatural (flashing fingers in a "v" sign, unusual faces and so on).

i only wish i had taken more photos of these two young ladies but i was running short on time and they were actually busy inside the tent preparing some interesting dishes for our small group previously. my short experience inside the nomads tent is one i wont soon forget.

its really beautiful. it seems that the cone is about to explode, good effect with the clouds. i'd like to see a composite image made of different shots of mount fuji, many shots of the same peak taken at different times.

mount fuji is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. i will now proceed to look at other fuji photos, one other noted here and try to decide which one is best. but i'm sure they're all nice....

good work craig. james

looks similar to the area in greater tibet that i'm just getting ready to leave. loads of horses and rolling hills but here, they're surrounded by some very high mountains.

nicely done tim.

tian shan.... extremely lovely mountain range. roaming horses on the high grasslands. judging by what i see on this front page of the kyrgyzstan photos, looks like you've got your own website here konstantin.

nice black and white portrait, however the only thing that distracts me is the plate at the bottom being cut off. otherwise, well done.

hi mike, i think yoiu could up the contrast and lower the brightness a bit on this one and it would render the black and whites a bit nicer.

hi mark, long time no see.

i've been to yangshuo and the li river several times and can attest to cloudy and rainy weather in summer. thats normal tho.

nice shot, and you did well to get this the way you did despite less than ideal conditions.
