Andy!!! Criminently!!! I am going off beer saturated memory here... correct me if I am wrong... you had that one shot of the mirror in an office and you fixing/adjusting it... brilliant!!! Um... if I got it wrong... move on... but I think I have it right. What have ya been up to?????? Wonderful shot... and in a strange connection kind'a way... I have a pair of New Balance shoes that mirror those in this pic... and bugger all what-ever team that jersey is... GO CUBS!!!!!! Man... what a grand post and great memory connect... love the cat on the floor... looking same as the subject... jeaysus... just all giggly I came across this!

WoW Andy, I have been photographing ruby-throats for a number of years and I must say that this shot is one of the most spectacular hummingbird photographs that I've seen. Very interesting and unique. Great timing. Congratulations on such a fine shot. -john

Andy, I just read all the details you so kindly provided in comments here and I have to say I really appreciate knowing what went into making this masterful image. You have a very unique combination of factors, such as the unusual lighting provided at this location, that contribute to the uniqueness of this image and the success. Perhaps you should start advertising and charging other photographers admission to shoot there!! ;-)

OMG.... I had no idea we had Orioles in California! You've named off a lot of birds I didn't know we had here. What a smorgasbord of photography subjects you have right within comfortable shooting range you've got!! And my gosh, this is a stunning capture... the composition is no less than a 10... and the bird is perched up there so proudly. The colors are just lushious... I mean, yummy!!! Wow Andy, what a fantastic capture this is!! Not sure what they are doing, perhaps it's a baby and momma is feeding it, perhaps it is a fight for territory... whatever it is, it's certainly interesting. I don't often see their behavior amongst themselves "frozen" so it can be studied. You've done well here, all is so clear... the plant is also very nice...really adds to this wonderful "action" shot!
