David here is the shot in color. I didn't find it particularliy appealing... when I took the picture I saw it in b/w.
Cheers!

Earl,
There are a few ways you can do this and all are very time comsuming! Maybe I just haven't found an easier way to do it.
I take my image into PS, make a duplicate layer and desaturate that layer. From there using the wand, lasso etc select the parts of the image you want to cut out. As you delete peices the color from the bottom layer will now show. Its as simple as that. Again a lot of work though.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Sam, took me a while to get the colors I wanted, although I look at it (having just completed it) and there are things I want to change already! I will let it be for now though.
Thanks again!

I think it is always hard when given such short notice.
One of the best things (IMO) that you can get if you are shooting weddings is a good flash. On camera flashes just aren't strong enough for the large areas that weddings are more than likely to be in.
Although the lighting isn't horrible, in respect that you can still see their faces and the details, a better use of flash would have made this a better picture.
Hope that little bit helps! It's my two cents and it's all I got!

Focus! And better lighting is needed in this shot.
Is she a model? Or shall as say... "is she what people consider a model?" Too skinny. I understand there are medical reasons why people may be like that... but I have no understanding why anyone would choose to want to look like that.
I will stop now.

I just came to realize that... the shot is/was in focus. It was raining very heavy that is why it is out of focus.
I don't feel so incompetent now!

Great shot! Did you darken her torso in Ps? I ask only b/c you can see part of her underwear which appears a little lighter than the rest of the black.
Beautiful shot though!!

Sorry Chris I forgot to mention that the shot was taken with the bulb setting. @ approx 28 seconds.
The next time I go out and shoot I am going to have my f-stop set @ 8~10 and just worry about catching actual stikes. I like to leave the shutter open to get ambient light from other strikes outside of the frame.
Thanks for the tips Chris,
Kris.
