Hi Chris; a beautiful fall color shot. The colors are wonderful, but I also like the curves of the water. The person-- even though very small is an important part of this image-- gives perspective. I'll take a look at the vertical, but this one is very nice. Cheers. Craig

Hi Roger; it is unusual. When I saw the thumbnail my first thought was about the washed out sky, but it's really not bad with this composition as the blues and grays just sort of blend into the sky, anf the compositionn and detail are interesting. This is my first view of a cell phone photo-- it's cool. Cheers. Craig

A wonderful landscape Tim. I like the sombre mood of this-- the tough little tree in the right foreground really makes the photo and gives the eye a place to rest.

Thanks for your comments on my recent sunset. This is a very wide flat beach and when the light is right it absolutely glistens. Some shots even look unreal;>) Cheers. Craig

Your "anger" series is excellent. I see emptiness here too-- perhaps the source of anger? Craig

Hi Roger; it really is quite amazing what you can do with the "toy" cameras-- I have yet to try them. I'd guess that's why this image is a little soft, but I like the color, subjects, and composition.

I agree that digital noise doesn't really look like film grain, but I still like the effect it created in my moon photo. It's guys like you that keep me honest-- thanks. Cheers. Craig

Nicely cropped Chris-- and of course I'm always intrigued by boat photos. The background with the fine autumn color is very nice here as is the sky. The gorilla story adds to the interest of this image so here's a smile for you ;>). Cheers. Craig

Hi Rose; after your comments on my moon picture last night-- thanks!-- I just had to look at this one. I say very nice. The clouds and their unusual color(s) lend quite an ethereal quality to this photo. Very nicely done. Cheers. Craig

Mike-- another excellent find-- and composition. I can feel thos soul's agony, and it reminds me of the painting "The Scream" by ?? I bet you know the one-- Meunch?? or something like that? Any way very cool-- as you know I like rock art too. Cheers. Craig

What an incredible vision and imagination you have Mike-- and I guess me too? cuz I like this a lot-- could be seen as very sensual?

You might appreciate this: before I took that grainy moon shot, I was photographing the alpen glow at the beach but in the opposite direction, then I turned around and the moon was rising through some light clouds and I thought of your expression, ie "look behind you" etc. Cool!

I'm chugging along-- gaining weight like a blue ribbon hog-- seems to happen in the winter especially. Hi to D. Cheers. Craig

Hi Jennifer; this is an excellent example of shallow DOF and also composition. It works perfectly here with just two parts of the MR in focus. The softness, and even the digital noise also work well in this composition-- and the dark BG is perfect for this pair. I shoot MRs all the time too (Oregon Coast) and feel they have a sort of well deserved reputation for "mysteriousness "as some are toxic yet others wonderfully edible. Ver nice shot-- thanks for posting it. Cheers. Craig

This photo is proof that sunsets in mono-tone can be very effective. I like this in sepia, and the toning emphasizes the cloud patterns which are very nice in themselves. The boats add the human touch. A quiet, peaceful feeling here. Nice work. Cheers. Craig

A wonderful autumn color shot Teunis-- I love the leaves, detail, and composition.

We haven't had a frost here this fall so the maple leaves aren't on the ground yet-- but soon I think. Thanks for your kind comments on my long exposure photo. Cheers. Craig

Hi Chris; you consistently post excellent photos, and this is no exception. In this the old fence actually looks as if it is part of nature, and it carries the viewers eye into the distance. The bird is in the perfect place and adds to the peaceful feeling here. Very nice.

Glad you liked my long exposure. They're fun to do 'cuz you never quite know what you're going to get;>) Cheers. Craig

Hi Lou; this is a beautiful close nature landscape. The rock colors complement the flower colors very nicely, and excellent composition.

I'm impressed with the 20D picture quality too-- especially since this is at ISO 800-- very nice. Thanks for your comments on my long exposure. One thing I really like about the Olympus E-1 is that it will auto expose up to 60 sec in Aperature Preferred Mode. Cheers. Craig

Hi Mike; an outstanding close landscape (waterscape?). The reflection is excellent and I really like the soft delicate pastel colors which really do contribute to the peacefulness of the photo.

Glad you liked my long exposure-- thanks! I'm not a member of OCPA but probably should be. I don't think I'd like the meetings, but suppose I wouldn't have to go to them and still be a member. You should come up, join, and enter some stuff-- BTW, they have 2 exhibits a year at Pony Village. Cheers. Craig

Hi Mike; this is a wonderfully enigmatic and somewhat surrealistic image that I really like! The toning is super and the horizon tilted enough to keep it in the somewhat abstract. Also, this has some very strong and dynamic lines and lighting-- dramatic sky-- with nice PS work. This is going into my favorites. Nice work my friend!

The OCPA (Oregon Coast Photography Association) is having an exhibit this weekend at Pony Village Mall that I want to check out. Cheers. Craig

Good Morning Pastor Spracklen; (it's midnight here).

What a wonderful image, and you're title is right on-- an impressive view. The compositional element that I really like here is the strong diagonal of the waterline receding into the distance-- takes the eye right with it-- and the foreground fence anchors it and increases depth even more. Nicely seen and photographed! Cheers. Craig

Hi Roberto; this is a wonderful landscape. As you noted, the colors are excellent, but the phot is very dynamic too with the strong diagonals running from lower left to upper right. I'd just add that the thumbnail doesn't do this photo justice at all-- it has to be opened to be appreciated. Nice work. Cheers. Craig
