Nice working portrait. The guys and gals must be glad to have you doing this. Well, maybe their glad most of the time but I'm sure you get some interesting shots that are not so flattering. As an EMT/Firefighter myself I also enjoy doing this type of shot, though it is rare that I actually get a chance. Again, nice shot.

The ground is down there somewhere but he's just too young to be bothered with such details. Reminds me of my own childhood, which kinda continues even now I suppose, though I don't always bounce when I land like I used to. You captured the action very well here and I think the b/w works well for the subject and his clothing. Let us all rejoice for a moment and join this lad in a battle cry, "Newton be damned, I will fly".

A classic mountaineering image, well composed and exposed. Too hot and humid today in Tennessee, wish I was there.

Whoa, that's a big one. Quite a scene with good tone and contrast, though I might like to see a shade more contrast in the sky. Now you must print it big and hang it on a wall. Now.

Thanks Becky for the wonderful comment. Back when I posted this one I had no PS and really knew nothing of color casts, sharpening, ect. I did see the litter when shooting and took a few with it in the photo and some without, just for a little different 'commentary'. I think you are the first to notice. Good eye! Thanks again.

Well, let me just sat that your IR/color work is quite spectacular. This has that nice painterly, dreamscape feel to it that really makes these images work.
I was looking forward to giving this technique a try myself as I just recieved my D70 today. However, having checked out the Hoya IR filter, lets just say I will have to wait a few months to make that purchase. But you certainly put it to good use.

None taken Steve, that's why I'm here. I suppose the light is a litle hot, it's just hard for me to tell for sure on my screen. I tend to err on the side of a little too bright with my scans since they tend to print about 1/3 to 1/2 a stop darker. Thanks.

Yeah, I can see where this could be a tough one to get balanced, with the bright light in the foreground on the shadowy recesses behind. I like the individual streams of water and the way they burst onto the rock. The tight composition is something not seen as often with these water shots but I tend to like it better this way.As I scrolled the page up and down I noticed a possibe cropping, pretty much the bottom third where most of the bright stuff is, that may work.

Excellent idea and execution. I suppose this scene may have looked kinda dull shot straight, but you could see the potential and captured it well. The composition and sharpness are right on. Very nice.
On a side note, I get my very own D70 tomorrow, my first digital camera. Can't wait.

Very cool shot. This is what rear-sync flash is meant for, helping the photographer add some style to an image. Ever try repeating flash for a stroboscopic multiple exposure effect? Might be something else for you to play with.
Not sure why but I hadn't come across your portfolio until now. You have some really good stuff here, keep at it.

That's weird, when I first looked at the thumb nail my first thought was that this is some sort of super-symetrical desert formation, but no, it was you stuck in the desert with nothing to do but be creative. You passed the time well, I must say. Oh, by the way, my Chevy Blazer has flaps covering the wheelwells. Just thought I would share that.
