I will share this comment. I was part of a science team underneath the first U.S.A. Concorde landing in Bangor Maine. Though it was 30 years ago or so I still remember it. We were short the toughdown point by 1 km. AS the Concorde approached, it had a high angle of attack and the nose extension was dropped quite low. I had the distinc impression of being attached by a Pterodactly, that flying dinosaure one reads about. Then the sound hit us. God that thing was loud. Thanks for sharing and if I can find/rescue a slide from that event I will post it. Were you in what kind of aircraft to take this picture?

My goodness! Very good journalistic capture. The two figures behind the flames and the man non-chalantly walking through it all add interest though it would have been even stronger, I think, if they had been closer in the foreground. I think it is important to have a human aspect to such images for emotional impact and these figures tend to get a bit lost among the flames and clutter.

Ouch! Great catch! Nice stop action. Amazing how sharp it is - you couldn't have known the rider was going to take a fall.

Great shot. I would wonder where and when the photo was taken. Anyway, the guy looks relaxed, I wish I could be at that kind of ease with that kind of militia around me.

ok the irony here is wonderful! I like how the smoke shows the beams of light from the sun making it almost surreal. The one thing that freaks me out here more then the cigarette is the fact that those look like red hot embers just under and behind his bum?!? OUCH! Great journalism or documentary shot.

This is a well catched moment! like the softness caused by the smoke and the game of ideas fire/fireman/cigarrete.

Congrats!

Indeed very powerful. The smoke sets the mood and the firefighters body language says everytjhiong else. In the abscence of an acutal fire in the picture - the lettering on his back does well.
