Many thanks for the effusiveness!
How? well, it's one pic, where I masked this stalk off and on the remainder applied motion blur (lots of it) in the (more or less) same angle as the stalk was reaching at. To give it some more kick I duplicated the blurred layer, adding a gradient layer and then set this second layer to multiply as a blend mode. The original pic is attached.
By the way, congrats on your portfolio - you have some really oustanding flower shots
