Congratulations Manu, this photograph really captures spirit of work by Arnold Newman. Nice perspective creating angled floor and trademark portrait inclusion of pictures within the image.

Luckily, photos don't smell. But in generally, I don't like to listen to them either, that's a similar waste of time of watching music... (unless it's live, of course)

Very powerful and well composed photo, quite different from your recent ones, including the grassy dunes series, but that's only a good thing. Diversity is nice!

Cheers,

Hugo

i do so love trees and this is a beauty!
The light on the bark of trunk gives it a story-book quality, but the bright BG looks today...i think this would also look good in a selenium tone

hi and thanks for comment on my "The cook"...she was prepping before cooking my halibut ;>...the clean dishes were already nearby

good perspective, and the darker palette with this contrast level is quite effective...kind of a memento mori of fish shot,eh?...LOL..

Hi Manu,
I love the variety of textures and the different hues of green and brown here. The band of bright green through the middle is eye-catching.
Cheers,

Into the favorites. Your ability to accomodate all the different colors, tones, and brightnesses is amazing. This photo is great on all fronts.

Hi manu.

The way the thick black border makes the image look like a small 'stamp' picture is really effective.
The thing that does it for me in the image is the way its beautifuly cropped. Absolutely spot on! Good balance throughout the image and a nice background, which isnt distracting etc.

like your work.

Hi Manu,

Quite an unexpected ending, but that's also one of the strenghts in this series, I believe. Good photo, concluding with the details of the car in the background which you used to kick off this series. Outstanding series, very well thought through... Excellent job.

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Manu,

This would be the "red" photo in the series - not sure that ws clear in my previous comment.

Hi Manu, as a stand alone, I like this one best; but not because of the image quality, which seem to suffer a bit from camera shake. The diagonal arrangement of the meters, countering the camera tilt is very good. Great shot. Nice prelude to the "red" one in this series too, introducing the complementary tone subtly...

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Manu,

As promised, a more indepth comment as soon as you finished this series.

The overview is great, absoulutely top notch. I especially like the flow from abstract to figurative, an excellent way to unveil the story.

Each one is a gem, (a well captured, very interesting composed photo), but the combination of the seven shots is even stronger. I think that's the key element to a successful series.

I think the huge black frame is a bit intrusive, but a stronger separation between photo and frame byt a 1 px white line would IMO solve this.

Very impressive series, and great to follow the unveiling from the sideline...

Cheers,

Hugo
