I'm not an expert either. It is called Eurasian Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo). Wildlife/Nature Photography is an opportunity to learn about all creatures great and small. I did a google search and found out this. http://www.owlpages.com/species/bubo/bubo/Default.htm

Non è Saturnia, è la piscina di un agriturismo vicino San Gimignano (Siena), costruita in modo da avere una splendida vista sulle colline circostanti, da un lato si vedono le torri di San Gimignano.
Non potevo lasciarmi sfuggire l'occasione.

Answering to Nick question: it was part of a show in Siena (Toscana, Italia) about ancient fighting technics, see attached picture.
Contrasting a lot of people that wanted to see the birds was not so difficult as a real wild safari but...

 The eyes says it all. This image could be funny or be scary as well, depending on the caption. Nice capture of those eyes. I noticed you said 154mm equivalent...is this owl a pet or wild, just curious how you get so near it. Cheers

Un po' rovinata, Molte volte se' leffetto non viene utilizzato bene la foto si rovina.
Un po' scura.
Potevi dare un po' di luminosità oppure cambiare la tnalità di colore opp. lasciarla originale
