Beautiful light, wonderful balance. In the game of choosing what to include and what to exclude, I think you won, Ken. There's just enough "other" stuff in this to give it balance and life -- but of course it's that beautiful leaf's show.
Nicely done.

Ken,

There is little to say about this photograph - the comp, tone, and light all suit the subject very well. I like it very much - is there anything else to say?

This is wonderful, Ken. I love the unusual perspective and her quizzical expression -- which seems to be accentuated by the twistd up legs, a sort of nervous tick with girls that age, I think.

Her grip on the gear looks sure, though, and I don't think she's just looking at you, I think she's trying to figure out how to SEE you.

I envy you. My girl's all grown up now with a boy of her own, on the other side of the continent. The first thing I do when I see them is pull out the camera -- shooting them is like falling off a log, I'll never have better models.

May be "just a snap," but appealing portrait nonetheless. Nice use of depth of field, and great angle. Her expression and posture suggest concentration or curiosity. Well chosen title also. Great photo.

This one has nothing to do with pine straw or rusty drains this is about line and movement - and distance - the composition is out of this world...

HA! Tickley -- and that's one of my favorite things about being around horses, they're always sneaking up on you and tickling you.

It's a quirky composition, but I like it, Ken. I think the clouds balance the horse's dark head nicely and the fence adds an interesting geometry. Don't mind the cropped ears, but I might tinker with that left crop a bit if this were mine. Not sure, though -- you know how it is. . . easy to say when it's not yours

Bizarre and fun!
I like both, you know . . .
And always like looking at the way things fit together in the frame, so this one gives me twice as much to consider.

Ken,

I was hoping that Fabio would see this. He loves reflections. Glad to see that he saw this. Excellent viewpoint/vision.

I might crop a bit from the top...a little further into her forehead since you nipped the hair...

Ken,

Jeanne says it all, which is a bummer.

I will echo the dynamic composition statement. The clouds and the pole definitely have a relationship in this image and play well off each other.

Truly creative landscape. The light from the sky and the highlights on the spring correspond well and create a relationship that makes the shot very enjoyable.
