I like this, too, Ken. great that you found the other lieele cresent shaped doo dad to go with it. The light's higher here than I would ever dare to go (2 candles and a cigarette lighter's my limit) -- but you've really done it well, and it works.
hmmm, remind me of a lotus . . .

Love it, Love it, Love it, but we may have to work on the title, boyfriend! Thanks for the comment on the Buick triptych and the tip about the scanner, but after an expensive vacation and on a teacher's salary it may be awhile before I put out $400. Until then you will have to learn to like ssssoft.

strangely enough this reminds me of the mouthpiece on old phones...perhaps that is the parallel you are speaking of - I don't know...the comp is good although the light feels a little bit harsh...of course, I am not sure the effect would be the same with different lighting...

ice angle, great textures, and tones that really suit the subject, I think. I especially like the lower corner. As the picture unscrolled, I was a little worried about how you'd end it. And I think it works very well.

Ken,
I might be tempted to blow out the left hand side some more and burn in the right hand side some more but that is preference - I can't even explain how powerful this is - the impression it gives of being bound - freedom is a form of bondage - I know that but still this is quite uncomfortable to actually view...
Wow!!!

I love this, it's a great abstract. Don't know if I could have it on my wall, though, it makes me a little anxious because I feel like I've got to get up and adjust the set (Where's that horizontal hold knob again?)

Ken,
This isn't a proper crit but this is about how some photos work (and this one works).
Some photos give us room to breathe and move and don't hand us answers on a platter. They can be looked at with satisfaction for great tracts of time.
the imagination is allowed to live...
thanks for this one...

I think this is wonderful for what is not there, as much as what is. What you've chosen to feature, how you've cropped this, the subtle tones, the crispness in the dead part of the leaf, the areas of light, the blackest blacks -- all combine to say a lot without saying much.
