Only thing that looses this otherwise outstanding composition down Jim, is the lack of bubbles coming from either mother or infant. Humpbacks are in constant communication with their offspring which causes them to exhale fine streams of bubbles.

Hi Hayri, On my monitor (Plasma) the white to orange graduation is a little harsh and stepped, maybe due to burnout as per normal CCD evaluation. I recommend the use of filtration - ND or P. Into sun shots need one or both of these.
Great observation and composition all the same.
