I like the contrast level on this photo. I think it is appropriate. However, I would suggest that you crop it differently so the dog isn't dead on center.
I like the coke bottle on the ledge so you could crop up the bottom just to under the dog.
However, it seems to me (if the location permits it) that it would be nice to crop from the top to just above the bench and then add a bunch of negative space to the foreground leading into the dog's location.

composition: good use of negative space, that well fits the mood transmitted by the pose of the man.
lighting: good tones, the sky area could have more details if darkened and contrasted selectively
