It does look like a giant red sun illuminating some alien vegetation. I never knew microscopic photography could summon such viewpoints. I am planning to buy a macro-objective soon, I do not think it will enable experiments of this scale...

A very pleasant scenic indeed. In addition to the river there are some lines available that give structure to the image. The weakness of the photo to me is that it lacks strong focus points. But landscapes sometimes do lack them, and they may still work. And I think this works.

I like simple minimalistic works. Here especially the minimal color palette is appealing to me. The choice of the colors is very good too. Possibly the number of the plants pictured could have been minimized too. But that is just my preference, it works like this also.

That wood brings to my mind a troll or some other hideous faery tale creature. Or it could be a humanoid as a victim of some torture device. Then the colors of the sun in the horizon would represent hope.

I like minimalist works and this fits. Really graceful curve. Brave to use B&W, enhances texture of the leaves. Stone is perfect background. Only nitpick is the crack in stone in upper part.

Nice abstract study. I especially like the minimal palette of tones. Composition is good too, although the right side of the image is a bit unstructured.

Beautiful light. I first thought to say that less central composition should have been tried, but I now think that the quite symmetrical composition works here. Rich greens and browns.

I like minimalism, and here minimalist color is presented. In such works blue tones are perhaps my favourite. Good cropping.

Quite impressive abstract. The central composition is probably right choice here. Rich colors from white to yellow to dark red. Street stone lines add structure.

Nice original composition. The foreground wall and stairs work both as framing and as part of the target. The bush adds a welcome splash of green into middle of brown tones. And the window itself is well positioned.

Interesting surface picture. Nice array of green and brown tones. The colors also build up a composition, it is often the problem in this kind of photos that there is no composition.

You have some pretty interesting abstract work. This one is simply amazing! The flowing rhythm, subtle color variations, undulating lines and overall structure make this a winner.

The cloud makes this look dramatic which is good. This photo makes the city look like a very dark place. Perhaps too dark. The photo also seems to be a bit lacking in composition and main target.

Nice name and idea. One obvious analogy is two friends who at some points of their lives spend much time together. Then life break them apart. One has a great future waiting while the other walks more in shadows. I really like the minimalist approach. Would be interesting to know how you nailed this image.
