Very cool shot. This is what rear-sync flash is meant for, helping the photographer add some style to an image. Ever try repeating flash for a stroboscopic multiple exposure effect? Might be something else for you to play with.

Not sure why but I hadn't come across your portfolio until now. You have some really good stuff here, keep at it.

Kelly,
Very nice picture with some great colors. The location of the palm is great, I think I might have made the palm smaller by catching more sky and ocean to give the palm a small and alone in a vast mixture of sand, sea and sky. Capturing where you have captured it here, but maybe zooming out a tad. The palm seems to draw me away from the Sky and Sea giving me a strong and prominent feel about the palm, which very well could be what you are trying to convey here. I like the minimalist approach of the shot that you have captured here.

I actually tried cropping tighter the first time, excluding the person in the background, but then it lost a sense of scale and size. There was no indication of just how big the jump was. I preferred this version just for that reason.

You shot a great action images, but I think it would be even better without the second person in the background.

The shot really does convey the foggy feel of that morning. Good color saturation to achieve this too.

Nice to see you trying more of these shots (I also like the "jumping swimmer" one, though it's a shame the bottom quarter is so dark). I think you've solved the question of how to make the biker stand out from a busy background - it looks really keen, especially with the red shirt. The composition is nice too and I like how the trees match the decline of the ground. The only thing I would suggest is to up your shutter speed as the biker is a bit too blurry.
