Oops, sorry, I messed it up! :-D

I meant that you could *close* the aperture but then you *couldn't* use a fast shutter for avoiding potential motion blur.

OK, now I got it right. :-D

Cheers again,

Nick

You're very welcome, Andras!

Yes, the details are pretty good indeed in the DoF and so perhaps you could get rid of the parts out of focus by opening the aperture a bit. But I guess than the the problem would be that you could use a fat shutter and as everything in nature is moving it would be hard to avoid motion blur. Sometimes I wish we could somehow fix such small fellows in place until we have the image. ;-) Glue? ;-)

Cheers,

Nick

Thank you Nick for your detailed comment! For me the details and the sharpness were good in this picture. You are right with the disturbing parts, I found it a bit disturbing too.
Cheers

Good coloring and details of the main subject for the biggest part of it, Andras. Perhaps the DoF was a bit too shallow though, since there are some disturbing parts here and there, like for example the front petals and that light reflection (or what is it?) right on the insect. Still the details on the front part of the insect are amazing.

All the best, and enjoy your meal! ;-)

A very very distinct way to present a portrait, Andras! Your focus is excellent here, as is your reduced color palette that still preserves the right tones of the skin, which is quite a hard thing to do. Then the magnificent details allow the spectator to really smile with his smiling face. But above all it is the chosen angle and perspective that turn this so special. A portrait of its own kind!

Best wishes and congratulations for the idea and the implementation!

Thanks a lot for the background info, Andras! I know how fast these beasts can be, Andras, and also that they really don't care much about the wishes of a photographer! Models in our days... ;-)

Still it is a great one that more than deserves the name "A macro".

Many thanks for the nice detailed comment Nick!
It is true, that the background is not the bust, but I decided to show this image to the 'public' because it was somewhat hard for me to take because of the fact that there were about a hundred wasps on that tree. And the were really fresh and fast...

This is a very good macro, Andras! The wasp stand in exactly the right place to be in that range of DoF that allows the spectator to see it in all its crispy clear glory! (And which is *the* hard part of a macro!) Even the small hairs are completely visible. A bit bad that that the background intervenes into the main subject a little bit, but only a little bit.

Excellent work!

Well, even the moment has to fulfill some things, Andras, and that's the hard part of it. You see, the spectator was not there, when that special moment made the photographer to take some image. So the spectator will never be able to approach that moment using any other means but the image itself. It is the door to that moment.

As a spectator I can only see the image, not the "real thing" that you had the luck to see directly. And so, if some part of that situation is not revealed by the image, the moment will remain only partially understandable to me. This is what makes things hard when it comes to such images of a special moment.

I hope I could make it clear.

Best wishes,

Nick
