it's not that it is not beautiful, but the cropping here is very tense.I may be wrong of course , if so, I apologize, because all in all it is a wonderful landscape image with great details in the sky.It may need a bit of contrast , anyway, my humble opinion only.:)

Very rarely does a sunset come out as well as this, Chris. Despite the fullness of that setting sun you've still managed to retain fine detail in that remarkable sky. The silhouettes of the monument and hill are well positioned. If I had one slight reservation, it would be that I might have preferred to see the sun positioned a little further away from the monument, and so provide a little more balance to the panoramic composition. Notwithstanding that minor point, I think this is a beauty.

Hey Chris! Yeah, i'm sure it's purely a SIZE/INTERNET issue. I actually didn't even notice the man standing there until you meantioned it. I'm sure in full size those two object make perfect sense. In the smaller version the man is rather insignificant and the plane looks a bit like a smudge.
Either way...I think you've captured a fantastic image. You should be very proud of this one!

Hi Christopher, Many thanks for the comment, I have to say I was gobsmaked how well this sunset came out, there was just a moment when the light was right, so I was VERY pleased. It is interesting that you think the plane should come out however... As I felt that you needed something like that in there to explain what the silhouetted guy was up to... is it the fact that you are not sure what it is, perhaps? Many thanks again - Chris

First of all...beautiful image. awesome colors. love the silhouettes. The narrow composition makes for a nice panoramic view. since you have this in critiquers corner, i guess i have to find something to suggest. the only thing I can find is what looks like a plane or a bird to the right of the sun. I think it's a tad distracting and could be removed. other than that...brilliant work!

Did you consider cropping this to exclude the crates? I think portions or details of the upper part might make good subjects.

The ragged edges of the old print is quite appropriate for the old subject. You did a good job of aging it.
