Up here in the north the sun is very low even at it's apex. A bit further north we don't even get any sun at some weeks in the middle of winter.

You are correct about the blurry . I think it's from the shallow DOF. It's a tricky angle to photo from, so I thought I'd try to snap from that one.

Yes, I think the bird living here has the most fancy bird house in the neighbourhood.
The wall paper on it are very sweet and makes it blend into the surroundings even more.

Lovely name you got for them. In Swedish they are called "Tulpaner", which is close to their English name. I took this picture at 10:00 PM. We have very bright nights up here in the north.

You have completely right about the lack of fashion in the picture. It really is more of a portrait, so I have changed the categories to portrait and people instead.
