Awesome shot!!!! Just one question, how did you get the colors to pop like that? I've tried many different techniques but still can't get mine to come out like that.

Good shot! As we have the same last name, I'm adding you to my friends list. Maybe we might be distance cousins? And even if not, its still cool to meet someone with the same last name in CA. You can also find me on facebook, just look for, Jimmy Gamble.

Chiara, Its a photoshop action. You can get this one at, Kubota Image Tools. In this case I applied a soft layer then, painted over the areas that I want sharp, the eyes. Thanks for your comment, jim

Thanks Paul, I'll keep that in mind next time I do a shot like this. The reason I shot without flash, was that, I attended a photo workshop, where the instructor, Doug Gordon, instructed us not to use flash and, it works for him. You can google him and check out his work and you'll see what I mean. As for the smoov factor, I'll try to adjust for the next post. Thanks again, jim

The tilt was totally unintentional, it was me not hold the camera straight. I didn't see it until it was too late, should have adjusted that. I like what you did though, adds a nice dimension to the photo. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks jim

Thanks Debra, I see what you mean by the halo effect, I'll work on that in my next post. As for the cropping, I have some shots of this tree off center, which I'll work on and post in the next day or so. Please keep watch and let me know what you think of the next posting. Thanks, Jim
