Roger, you are right. I am reluctant yet to shoo people away from the background. Really do have to brave up some and think seriously about the distance between subject and background. You are the second to recommend more distance or blur for that background. Thanks for your sincerity. Luke

Very nice shot.
As just a suggestion...you might want to either digitally blur the background (I have one similar to this one and it can be kinda distracting) a little, or have your subject stand farther from the background to allow a natural DOF blur.
I looked at your other images, and you are very talented at people pictures.

Oh Luke - How cute is this! I'm SO glad I read some of the comments before I responded since I made EXACTLY the same cropped example she did!! So I checked it with the B&W and I loved it! You almost can't go wrong with this as a subject!!

LOVE dominate this composition. A loving older sister is also holding it together. Mood and everything else look so natural and lovely. Very nice image.

I would suggest what "rebecca claassen" already suggested, a tighter crop and just a touch more range. I think I'd go even closer in. I might suggest a black and white conversion, as well.

Wonderful handcolor. I love the muted tones! I think I might like it better without the shadow texture on the background, but to be honest, I am not sure. It is eye catching, well done!

What a cutie! Nice clear shot, I would like to see it cropped harder on the left so that she is not in the centre of the frame and is looking toward a bit of negative space. Also there is a spot on her her forhead and a line near her hair that i find a little distracting on an otherwise perfect complection, maybe you could remove those. But she certainly is gorgeous, love the little soft curls.
