Nice work Luke.
I love the Idea, the lighting is graet, though you have aa couple of reflections but that's ok I guess. Comp. is great, but maybe the crop is a bit too tight from the right. The background is good, but maybe you should try to avoid reflections off the background.
Overall, it's a great shot.

Wow! What an amazing portrait! I cannot believe this photo has not recieved more attention!
First of all, the colors are gorgeous and are very fitting for the season. Everything from the leaves in the background, that fill the frame so nicely, to the tone of her skin and the color of her sweater all harmonize so well!
I love the perspective, it definitely makes this an interesting and creative portrait. I also think that this perspective gives the photo that "larger-than-life" feel that you describe because you are looking up to her rather than directly at her, head on, or down on her.
Then there is her face. A face of wisdom and character. So much to be seen in her expression, her eyes and in every well earned line and wrinkle on her face.
Really excellent, Luke! I love unique and interesting portraits, and this is definitely one of them!
