Claude, what wonderful light you always get with your portraits. This is soft and flattering and so pleasant.

So as one explores your portfolio, one can get a sense of those previous questions. Nice composition.

Renata, you bagged a winner here. As I was browsing through new photos, this is one that captured my attention. Very well done with the cropping, the lighting and the DOF. She is looking back at us while we try to determine who/what/where she is!

What a beautiful night shot and landscape. Excellent eye for the details that are so often overlooked. Great colors.

Yes, the orchid. A flower that can start a war. This one is perfectly framed, perfectly composed, and perfectly lit. Angelic looking.

Mario, what a nice compact and well composed image! I see that the mime's makeup mimics the stucco on the wall behind him, and although we can see him we know he is hiding something. Great capture!

More of this beautiful plant, Marion. I think it is better with some DOF to give perspective. Nice color and background all over again.

Hey, Isaac. New post, great silhouette. I agree with Cheryl that this should be in new project. The colors and the shadow details are fantastic. You underestimate your own tale3nt, Isaac. You are finding a style that suits you. As a wise person told me once, when the teacher is ready the students will come. When your style becomes a signature you will have those who value your work beating down your door. Review what you have done and I think you will be amazed at the quality of what you have already produced. Luke

what a wonderful feeling of openess here! Amazing how much information can be transmitted in an image without color. What beautiful clouds!

Marion, this is absolutely wonderful and a testament to what natural light can do for an image. I love the softly lit highlights.

my comment appears to have been eaten by the database. i think this is a wonderful image, Claude. Remarkable DOF, as evidenced by the sharp eyes, yet shallow enough to not have the earring be so sharp. See Marta's very similar image. tres bon- Luke

Claude, this is nicely lit, wonderfully composed and appropriately colorful. The orange bandana against the weathered painted wood has so much texture that the face jumps out of the image. Thanks!

Isaac, this is nicely composed. You are right to concentrate on the in camera work. I am guessing when you have it right you will know. The PS work can only improve an image that has a basis to start. Too much white may have thrown off your meter. Bracket like crazy or use the spot sensor. Do you have a gray card? Or better yet, something you always have with you that you can use to balance the light/shadows within the camera. Some use and incident meter. Still this is a nice image. Keep shooting like you have been. I have enjoyed seeing your work, lately.

Thanks, Sometimes i wonder Trish, if I am pushing myself towards the wrong direction. I work with people all day long, and the abstract comes so naturally to me that it does not feel like work. People are tough because of their inherent complexity. When I can deconstruct people like the abstract, perhaps my portraits will be better.

This truly is a Kodak moment. Well done. Nice special image for father and child. You used the light behind the subjects well to control background and contrast.

Excellent capture, Todd. I can tell you as a local this is one fine image. IDS encapsulated in fog/mist, the lights of DT Mpls, the colors of the evening sky. Sharp image.

Nice to see a young man captured innocent and pure. Not often that we see images of boys in this "light". Well done, excellent tight composition and you used the light you had to your advantage.

Window

broken glass
missing doorknob
growing grass
decrepit walls now
falling down
buildings like this
one all over town.
captured well,
composition great
lines and forms
help to create
image of something wrong
in this world.
watching misery as it
slowly unfurls.

Thanks for this!
