I make a habit of it. Nice graphical representation of universal theme. Nicely seen scene if you know what I mean.

Reminds me of a scene from Out of Africa. Peaceful tranquil wilderness. A place we visit but dare not stay too long for fear of what we may encounter, externally as well as internally. That tree is a beautiful symbol in the midst of all the wonderful yellow grasses. Welcome back!

Thilo, he looks like one of the characters that my kids watch with Sponge Bob. Can't think of his name, but this image rings a bell. Good capture! Really does look like a smile. Maybe a grimace. Nicely lit shooting through the glass and water.

Wow, Alison. Your image brings fear to my soul. I have only seen the images and read the stories of Maximom when traveling in Guatemala. I, of course, am ready to return there for my third trip. It is an endlessly fascinating country. This image is a clue to the psyche of the people. What have we done?

Thanks, Gary. It is a Yashica Lynx 14 and the book is one I purchased from the photographer when I saw him for the second time this summer at an art fair. He does nice work.

a beautiful combination of negative and positive spaces. which is which is anyone's guess...sort of depends on one's perspective. i think the cat is the main subject.

the black sweater adds an interesting contrapunto into the image. it is negative space but so complementary. nice sharply focused and well composed image.

Great shot. I see this frequently when I am in the area, but often either have no camera or arrive at the wrong time.

Well done. I have seen this beautiful skyline so many nights when I had someone else in the car with me. You nailed this one. Excellent with nice straight lines and all. This is a photo that all the Minneapolitans should see.

You have outdone yourself LaTreice. The lighting is great. Moody enough to be interesting yet still yielding some details.

Wow, Marion. There is so much contrast in detail in this simple monochromatic image. Excellent composition and framing to create a unique abstract flower image.

Nice image, Tony...I think the focus is slightly off with the sharpness falling on her hand rather than her face.

Jake, I will probably look at it again, but I was just too impressed with the raw slide and had to leave well enough alone.

Stefan, this is one of those grab shots that needed little post processing because of the shallow DOF of the macro lens, but you are right about a better crop. Will look at the original and see if there is room there.

Thanks, Andrew...appreciate your comments. It is lacking though in some respects. Conceptually a good idea but needs refinement. Sooner or later I will have to get a better film scnanner.

Yours is better Carmem...thanks for the review. The contrast boost also boosted the grain from the poor scan though.

Very cool shot. Expert use of DOF to tell a story. I know what is important in this image and what is secondary.

What stunning eyes, Robert. The B/W were great, but the color really makes her alive. She is captured beautifully in her complete relaxed state.

I don't know about the filters, Carmem, but I know that this is quite an endearing and intimate photo. The left arm is placed perfectly to frame her beautiful face. The little flower in her right hand is a nice touch.
