I like the framing with the tree on the left and the widescreen. What looks a bit odd is the tilted shore. nice work anyway.

Hi Luke,
I like the detail and the overall composing with some space to the left so that the dragonfly can fly away =)
The only thing that I would think about is the oversaturated body of the dragonfly. you lose some detail with that although I have to admit that the strong color is a great effect as well =)

Thank you Thilo. It is those small details that make or break an image. I do not have the best film/slide scanner and have elected to go to DSLR instead. I appreciate your concise and helpful comments.

Hi Luke,
your portfolio shows great strength with your ability to see the detail and the abstract. this one is fine with the usage of DOF, the texture quality and the splendid blue background. there is some small potential on your framing (it doesn't see to be a straight line) and I see some dust spots especially in the background. I hope that these are not by intention ;-)
anyway, nice work. I will follow your steps.

Perfect title. I like the long rectangle. This just shows you don't have to blast out the whole sky with orange in order to have a beautiful sunset. Wonderful mood.

This is a really nice b/w. I like the forward tilt to his body and the really natural laugh. The framing is great with some space on the right. Very pleasing image.
