Hi Luke,

what a strange building. the glow you captured make this thing look like a futuristic house. perfect exposure. there is a half-moon on the left which I probably would erase.

anyway, a fine work.

best wishes. Thilo

Clifton, it is located on the Minneapolis campus of the University of Minnesota. Looks out over the Mississippi River.

Non.... Claude, ce n'est pas le musée Guggenheim à Bilbao.....

wow! i just commented on the other "Wing" shot and then i see this. this is tremendous! its into my favorites because i am an alumni and it is absolutely stunning in this light. i have never seen it like this...stellar!

p.s. if it was me, i would try to clone out the white partial circle (maybe light fixture) in upper left.

i like your composition and your exposure on all the reflective surfaces (tough conditions). i think this is a beautiful building (in most light it is very silver) and you have captured some of its interesting features very well! how did you get the golden light? it is very fitting considering the mascot and school colors (go Golden Gophers!). i think this was completed after i graduated so i have never been inside. would be interested in some posts if you get a chance to take some shots indoors. again, nice shot!

p.s. i suppose you saw the small and hard to notice flare in the upper right. just fyi...no big deal to me.

Magnificent shot Luke. Beautifully exposed in that golden light. I think this is the best shot I've ever seen of this. You could be justifiably proud of this one!

The red and the silvery color go so well together. I think the focus is fine. People worry too much about stuff. I am so impressed at how clean your chainsaw is!

Hi Luke,

this is just a great color! the focus thing is weird as it seems that the two screws have the same distance to the lens. as the one on the right is blurry, that doesn't seem to be the case.

the mild twist adds to the image IMHO.

best wishes,
Thilo

Rotating the image caused so much loss that I can't show what I mean....sorry!
Is there more space in the original?
As for the DOF...it seems that the top of the right 'thing' (don't know the english word for it) is just out of focus. And this object asks for ultimate sharpness I think.
Hope this was any help! :-)

Hi Luke, it's been quite a while since I had time to be here.
We seem to be in the same red mood today! :-)
I think to make this perfect (for me that is!) is to
make the horizontal lines straight with the border of the frame (I hope it is clear what I mean?)
I'll try to show what I mean and download the pic.
I'll be back! :-)

Thanks, Carmem. Tell me what you do not like about the focus. Too sharp! Not enough DOF? I ask so that I can understand.

Hello, Luke, I agree with Thilo's edition... and I think he has increased colors with selective colors, also, hasn't you, Thilo?
I'm now trying also the lens correction filter in PS-CS2... it seems to be a helpful feature!!
cheers for you both!
