Tiens tiens...photo ou plutôt puzzle photographique du plus bel effet....je constates que tu possèdes une belle maîtrise de la composition florale cher Luke...intéressant mariage entre le l'automne et l'été

Thanks, Gary. It is a Yashica Lynx 14 and the book is one I purchased from the photographer when I saw him for the second time this summer at an art fair. He does nice work.

Lovely shot, nice and closeup and a beautiful shade of blue. You've done justice to Provia!

I love pictures of old cameras and this is as good as they get. Looks like a Yashica to me? I'd also like to take a look at the book underneath - I have a portfolio of old farm buildings and machinery.
Regards, Gary

Jake, I will probably look at it again, but I was just too impressed with the raw slide and had to leave well enough alone.

Stefan...it was one of those moments of total clarity. Everything came together for that one super lucid moment. Glad you like it.

Stefan, this is one of those grab shots that needed little post processing because of the shallow DOF of the macro lens, but you are right about a better crop. Will look at the original and see if there is room there.

Thanks, Andrew...appreciate your comments. It is lacking though in some respects. Conceptually a good idea but needs refinement. Sooner or later I will have to get a better film scnanner.

Yours is better Carmem...thanks for the review. The contrast boost also boosted the grain from the poor scan though.

Hi, Luke, I like the idea... but in my opinion, there's a slight tilt... and some contrast is missing. I've played arond with filter, rotate it 3? left ( but unfornately, I had to crop).
Hope you like it!
cheers,
carmem

I like this a lot - the background contrast so very well and the expression is great. An alternative would be cropping almost to a square from the right, but I hesitate to say that because of the background.

I have a close relative of this (I presume) rangefinder - the amazing Electro 35. The "reading material" makes for a good, quirky, twist.

What a lovely and spontaneous portrait, Luke!
I really love it. :-)
Very nice light, good composition and DOF: you can just see the fair in the background, without being disturbing.
Excellent!

What a sweet look! Luke, you caught the very best possible instant. A lot of people don't like pictures of themselves, but how could she not love this. Great job.
