A cliche perhaps, but always enjoyable to those who take the trouble to really look. Your words are as interesting as your photos and I learned something today from reading them. Thanks, Luke.

...you work with protective services?

I agree a crop of the right side might be in order, but not to eliminate the table tents, as she'd be boxed in too much then. I would crop only to remove the other person, but still show the menus and the view down the hall.

Wonderful shades and tones, Luke.
I love your logic, especially how #5 leads right back to #1.

Sunsets are mileposts of a day gone by, and I guess as potential night time prey for roaming predators, the transition from light to dark was always important.

Nice crop, and good use of the rule-of-thirds.

What a misty, colorful vision, Luke.
I'm still waiting for a first freeze to turn leaves 'round here.

Hi Luke! Your autumn looks familiar Beautiful colours & compo ... agree with Thilo about cloning out the part of a birch on the right, wish the sky/water had a bit more colour. I prefer the compo - and especially the red spot - in the main upload ...

It's getting prettier by the day. I thought the amount of tree trunk you included was just enough to imply a right-hand border without interfering with this composition. Both of these are very nice, but I prefer this one. Good work.

Hi Luke,

I like it how the the colors of the trees reflect in the general lighting of the scene. IMHO this image is quite better than the original one. Hope to see some other comments as well.

Here then is a slightly different version. Cropped and color/saturation not quite the same.

Hi Luke,

I think it's a different thing when you watch your own image and if you watch an image of other persons. the distance in the latter case clears the view =)

Good observation. Always nice to have an editor who sees what is obvious yet you may still miss yourself.

Hi Luke,

nice shore scene. The lighting was very difficult with the great contrast between the darker and the lighter parts. I like the colorful trees here. One thing that I might think of is the part of the tree on the lower right. I don't think this adds to the image.

best wishes, Thilo

Hi Luke,

good spy shot. I like the back pose a lot here but I'm not so sure about the blown out parts on the right. Maybe a crop is helping out here? Hope to hear some other comments.

best wishes, Thilo
