Great angle and composition, though the slight tilt of the frame (enhanced by the uneven bottom edge) tends to bug me, as a shot like this sorta requires extra attention to symmetry. top-notch concept.

Wonderful abstract with very interesting lines, shadows and unusual reflections of light glimpses. The colour is stunning and composition very creative. I enjoy this image. Cheers - Ann

This is a real enigma. Quite the optical illusion. I enjoy the curves and tones and I like the light. Very nicely done.

Thilo, the exposure was actually 6.5 seconds. I wanted to be sure there was enough time for a smaller aperture. I also wanted to have no flash reflections in the metal particles.

Hi Luke,

I like your idea with the rocks series and the importance of rocks in general. The textures and the toning are fine done. As Stefan said, I tend to judge that the white stone lost some detail. Not easy to judge on this part =)

5 seconds?

best wishes,
Thilo

It's going to be a very interesting project. Somehow you've imbued them with significance in this mysterious presentation, making us wonder where they've been and what they're made of. They're so nicely arranged. They'd be good in color too.

Excellent title Luke.
This is a very sense and impressive shot.
Well done my friend, and I'll hope you luck in your project with rocks. I love this.

I love rocks as well... I like the presentation with complete black in-between the stones, but I think you might have lost a little bit of detail in the light larger stone...

Thanks for the comments....I suggest the St Paul conservatory at Como Park (there is a free zoo there as well and a Japanese Peace Garden), the Rose Gardens at Lake Harriet; the Universtiy of Minnesota (Weissman Museum and spectacular old architecture); the riverfront near DT Minneapolis (although not near what the San Antonio Riverwalk is). Happy shooting today!

HA! I googled 'best breakfast' 'Minneapolis' and came up with Hell's Kitchen! I didn't realize until I arrived that the owner was a bigger Ralph Stedman fan than I am! I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast.

Yesterday I visited Minihaha Falls and the locks on the Mississippi.

Hi Luke,

the atmosphere, the strong silhouettes and the perfect stop light make the image. nice work! maybe a bit more "flesh" on the ground part would increase the mood even more. But easy to say =)

good one.

best wishes,
Thilo
