This is an interesting image. With all these varying tones and the element of the steps it almost looks like an optical illusion. Great textures. Simplistic but I like this very much.

Cheers - Ann

I like the bright reflections on the background that look like bubbles in water. A very satisfying composition. Good job.

A digi sandwich. How funny. Love the terminology. Sounds like you're stuffing a sandwich into a didgeridoo.

Anyway....this really works for me. I enjoy the different lines, curves and shapes. The colours are eye catching and the background is a nice compliment that works for both images nicely. Interesting light at play here making some subtle but nice reflections. Good abstract. I like it.

Cheers - Ann

The stark boldness of the candy-colors stands in strong contrast to the subject. Very effective.

I love rocks. I tend to find really big ones though. I love the tones and textures in this image. With the dark background it looke like a floating cosmic field. Funny what images a photo can project to different viewers.

Thank also for your comments on my images Luke.

Intriguing title on this impressive abstract. Those forms just smoothly flow together. Very pleasing.

Almost titled Owner of...Lonely Heart, but I preferred a slightly different refrain. Yes was one of my favorite bands in HS and university. Wish I had purchased the CDs even now.

Hi Luke,

so it seems you know that old Yes song which is quite similar in the title? =)

I like this abstract with the reflections. The mild grain and the BW conversion is perfect. good one!

best wishes,
Thilo

Listen to Neil Young's song "Keep on Rockn' in the Free World". Blends in nicely with this photograph..and what you had to say.

I like the living color. Especially how the blue of his clothes matches the blue behind him. A powerful statement about the disgusting situation where CEO's make more in a month than this man will in his lifetime. Shameful.

Oh..this is so sad. The man is surrounded by such bright colours and yet feels a world of grey.

In my case too painful when I froze my butt off taking dozens of shots out in the cold right after a hail storm then my compact flash card fried in the computer cause I didn't let it warm up to room temp before attempting to upload my iamges so all my suffering went in vain. Toooo painful that experience.

Anyway...I think your image says it all. I enjoy the colours and textures and I like the detail in the main leaf. Good shot.

Thanks also for taking time to view and comment on my iamges Luke. Cheers - Ann

I like these two too. To capture this you must have had to search all over the whole tree. I like that little bright spot of sunshine. I like winter too.

Thilo, I happen to love winter. I do not complain about it at all. Striving to find what I can find positive in each season. You will see lots of winter wonderland images coming soon. Luke

Hi Luke,

I like the fresh color and the chosen DOF which adds some depth to the image.

But I don't think that the winter is that bad. I have done some interesting shots even when it's cold outside or rainy. But you're probably exaggerating a bit here ;-)

best wishes,
Thilo

You are right, Andrew. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. My lame excuse is that I did not have my reading glasses and this simple task evaded my failing eyesight. Now I know I have to be more careful when I remove my contacts in the evening and allow time for my eyes to adjust to the bi-focals again. Here is an updated version with your constructive assistance.

Hi Luke,

Fantastic color and abstract composing. love that title and the great idea with the lighting. the shadows add to the scene. maybe a horizontal format would work as well.

good one!

best wishes,
