your son is infinitely delightful, Evaristo. i think a bit of fill flash and a decrease of DOF would have turned your snapshot into a good portrait. Luke

excellent capture neighbor...i thought it was an allusion to the contrast, but alas i saw the red sign at last. well seen.

Robert, I think you should leave the space in front of her. It gives the image some breathing room. She would look cramped and the eye contact would be less natural than it is. The focus and composition are really sharp and pleasing to the eye. Luke - BTW, Happy New Year!

Love the Guggenheim. Love this perspective of the Gug and think the tones are great!

This is the complete image. I framed it in camera this way. It was during a moment of peace when we arrived at our destination. I needed the simplicity of this particular moment for self-reflection. Thanks for noticing.

Great pose with beautful subject...like the contrasty lighting and the b/w treatment.

mastery of lights and shadows. you have conveyed a sense of mystery as i want to know what she has witnessed. there is considerable dynamic tension in this image. the textures of the textiles and the slight film grain give it panache. Luke

nice capture of your son, Claude. I am sure he will appreciate this thoughtful gesture. Love the b/w imagery as it becomes instantly timeless. Luke

great portait Marilia. i like the grain as i think it makes this person really rather than creamy smooth as a TV model. great composition as well. Luke

very wonderful creative imagery, Helea. I like the ambivalence of her pose - sultry or predatory. The lighting fits the image quite well. Excellent work! Luke

Paul, you do these wonderful old architecture works. Not historic old buildings, but actual places many of us have visited. The landmarks of our civilzation as we truly know it. This is excellent and I love the cracking paint and the weeds growing through the cement. Keep shooting this! Luke

Very original Claude. The image is your usual very high standard. Sharp focus with great selective DOF, clearly defined subject with tight framing and something in the frame to create a more satisfying and emotionally expressive image. Superb!

Who is the mysterious Ana? Very nicely lit to convey the cosmopolitan nature of which you speak. She could be Mona Lisa as well; nearly smiling. Luke

Perfect diagonal, Paul...drab color though. I guess that plane becomes all the focal point we need. Where it is going to and where perhaps coming from. Luke - Happy Holidays!

This well-exposed Santa does not look happy with his photographer. He must know something about the tricks you used to light him up like a Christmas tree. Good work. Make him smile next time.

i think the darkness adds an emotional weightedness to the Watching and Waiting. I can begin to ask myself what it is she is waiting for, or perhaps who she is watching for. Her sinister lover/spouse; a detail from the arnmed services to tell her of the death/injury of a loved one. The diminished lighting and details in her clothing are clues to something that we may need to simply wait and watch for further explanation. She is not going to share this with us.

it does feel like an entrance to The Twilight Zone. A place where the normal is not. Up may be up or down or sideways. I think it is the magnificent shadows you have created.

fantastic color, Thilo. I do not understand the disorienting composition though. It makes me nauseous as I feel off kilter. good details in the brick work! Luke
