Thanks, Bart. I only rarely get to the Coachella Valley, but I do go to the downtown L.A. area once every few months for photography. (It should be more, as I work just two miles away!)

Very nice, the beer adds a pleasant informality. Good composition, too.

A very nice composition. The figures at upper left are a nice touch here. When did these dunes become so white, though? Is it Photoshop, or something about the light?

Just like an abstract painting, except that it's real! This is excellent, you had the skill to take advantage of being in the right spot at the right time.

Very nice composition, Rebecca, with beautiful colors. For my taste the sky is maybe oversaturated, but others will disagree!

Beautiful composition and colors, Barry, it reminds me of a Dutch landscape painting, except that the plowing has obviously been done with modern equipment!

Actually, Barry, the curved horizon is not from the Sigma, it's from the gap between two hills in the distance!

I do have to take responsibility if it seems too bleached, though.

Thanks for your comments.

Very clever idea, Rafi, well executed! The figures match in scale really well with the buildings. It must have been an interesting dream that inspired this.

I did receive your two emails; I'll answer in the next couple of days.

Wow, David, what sort of macro device did this involve? Quite remarkable, so sharp and clear, and a great composition!

I think it was worth the sacrifice, Rebecca! We have to suffer for our art. (Of course, non-photographers just think we have better cameras, right?) Very nice composition. The only improvement would be more sharpness, as you more or less noted.

There's nothing like a 10 mm lens (in the hands of a good photographer) to make a great cloudscape! Very nice work.

Very nice image, very clever and original. The orange(?), though, being the only thing in sharp focus, draws a bit too much attention, though, perhaps.

A vivid portrait with very nice natural light! Interesting how the subject appears straight but the horizon is not.

Nice "slice of life" image. You might consider increasing the contrast in the shaded areas, since that's where most of the interest lies.

Very nicely done the way the colors blend into one another, Rafi. But Ginger looks uncertain about whether he/she likes being part of such decorative artwork; probably she would a "fierce predator on the hunt" theme!

I re-sent you the email I sent yesterday, in case the Spam filter got it again...

A very nice composition, with a great choice of grain and other effects. The only thing you might reconsider is the color scheme--the dark red is somehow not soft like the rest of the image.

It's very nice how you caught her in a happy candid moment, Rafi, and the framing brings out the idea that she's in her own world, at least temporarily.

Nice light, perfect exposure and a very good composition, Alper. But I'm not sure the light post adds anything--did you try a shot without that?

It looks like you chose them for the colors they were wearing! Nicely framed shot--just enough to show a little of their life.

Nice idea, and a well-executed difficult exposure. You might try cropping from the right so that it's less "split down the middle."

Nice composition, well framed. Perhaps a little more variation in the tones would give it a bit more life, though.

Welcome back, Rebecca! Great job with the lighting, it came out just as well as with professional equipment! His eye is in focus, which is the most important thing, and sometimes difficult, I think, though I don't do a lot of portraits.

Grant, when using a 12mm lens to take a shot that sweeps from the near foreground to the remote distance, the shadow of the camera will be visible, unless shooting toward the sun. If anyone knows a way around this, I'd be interested to hear, because I'd rather it not be there. Perhaps if I had more expertise I could eliminate it in Photoshop.

Very nice composition and colors. It doesn't really tell any story because there's no context--who is he? Why is he there? What gesture is he making? I guess this mystery is either a positive or a negative, depending on how you look at it!

Very nice artistically, Rafi, but some are bound to object to the stereotypes! It looks like the dreams of Madonna's "Material Girl."
