Super capture this one Glen! Like the cloud in foreground and the exceptional lighting that puts front side of mountain in sun and other side of peak in shadow...and of course the 'copter in the middle of the action. Great job.

Beautiful shot but scary. I would love to see a shot taken at night.

Beautiful shot for what could become so ugly. The color and composition are perfect for this kind of shot. If you hadn't mentioned it in your notes, I'd have never guess this was Mt. St. Helens. I'm glad I'm on the east coast. This is too scary.

Yes Richard I did use Photoshop and in answer to your other question... It is a lens flair in the upper right corner.

This is like a two in one shot...documentery for the volcanic activity and excellent abstract. Nice hues and gradients between the ridges. As for the abstract quality, I would crop off maybe the top 1/4. Good capture.

This is a fine image, I do prefer the B+W version however. While this one is beautiful, I think the B+W is more dramatic and has more of an impact. I'm a bit of a monochrome freak though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Wow Glenn, this is really cool. Love the sharpness and the tonal range. Did you do any "Photoshopping" and what is the little circle (top-right corner)??? Lens flare???

It's a shame about that goal post and the wire, but other than that I really like this shot.

Fairly massive event - just hard to tell the scale of it except for the fluid mechanics of the rolling ash.

Echo the enthusiam of Ryan.
