Thank you very much for the kind compliments, Indranil! It's very much appreciated. Your portfolio is very nice as well. I particularly like "The Musician." Very colorful and "alive" capture. India is an amazing place. I spent a month there many years ago and took lots of pictures. Thanks for looking at y work.
~ Warmest regards, Rocky

Thank you very much, Jacques. As you know, the interesting thing about this place is how the colors don't reveal themselves until you take a long exposure. Because the lighting is so low there, to your eyes the colors look very muted and a sandy beige. The surprise happens when you see how the little light that filters down through the cracks is amplified by the long exposure and reflected on the walls to bring out the many colors.
Thanks again for looking at my work and leaving such encouraging comments.

Hi Maryam,
Thanks very much for the kind comments. It IS a pretty amazing place there. Very low light, so, the shutter speed was very long (30s). Thanks for stopping by and leaving a note.

This is amazing, Rocky...wonderful light, and love the blurring! Somehow makes me think it could be an illustration for a Stephen King story. A Favorite!

Glad to hear you are better.:)

Dear Rocky, don't worry, it is not too technical...in fact i know the relation between shutter and aperture, but 30 sec it's a long time.. I have also tried to shoot with long shutter (with tripod and remote control) but never 30 seconds...Thanks a lot1
Warmest regards
Ruxa

Not bad. A bit too fuzzy for my luxagraphic tastes, but not as bad as it could have been. I'll look forward to seeing your next set (and hopefully one with a moving person).

LOL! I like the way you think James. I went through all the shots and I think I may have tossed out some of the worse ones because I can't find them right now. However, this is one that I think was when someone kicked my tripod.

Hi Ruxa. The reason for 30 seconds is that it is quite dark in these canyons. Very little light makes its way down into them. The longer your shutter stays open, the more light can be absorbed by the film or sensor (and therefore the lighter the image will be). Not too technical but I hope that helps.
