Absolutely love it. Very moving image, silent, like man came, destroyed, and left his junk. Then the silence comes back.

Nice. I like the roughness of the image, that compliments the roughness of the man, and contrasts with the cafe scene in the background. The shoulder on the right bothers me a little, though.

Beautiful. The lighting could not be more perfect for this image. Well Done

I really like this one. There is something very ... unreal? about it. I love the effect your flowers have, there is something grim and dark, like as if I am looking at an old picture of flowers at a time when the world is covered in dust, and trying to remember what they smell like.

I like the Depth of field very much, and I like the affect and mood that this picture creates. However, the stem on the left is slightly distracting to me. Very nice image overall, though. Gives a sense of silence.

Nice shot of the dog. I would have asked the nice Senior Master Sergeant to put the dog down though, the boundary of the red and green meeting on the head of the dog takes a little away from the subject.

Thank you, all of you for your comments. I had the camera set on bulb with the f-stop at 8 and the ISO at 100. I sat and waited with the shutter open for the strike at the right place and then released the shutter right after. I was very lucky to get a strike such as this, but thank you all for you support.

Well, you would think that at f/11 all the bikes would be sharp, but what played the blurring part was that the bikes in the back were coming into the turn, towards the right, and I was panning with the bike in the front coming out of the turn, towards the left. Thats why I had the shutter set at 1/125. So the blur on the other bikes is just motion blur. Thanks for your comments, I really appreceate them,

Beautiful capture, a little dark though, but the action compensates for the lighting

Paolo...I love the lighting on the plane, the composition make me feel like if I blink, the plane will be gone from the picture. All my aircraft pictures look static compared to this. As much as the image is made dynamic by the sky in front of the plane, I might have still cropped it a little shorter. I am still breathless though!

Paolo! I love your creativity! So simple yet so elegant. The only thing I can think of that might have improved the image is the slight dust on the table, but the image is perfect in every other way. Good job!

I love it! I think the composition is perfect the way it is, the space at the top and bottom seem to stretch the ribbon out, it might have looked to cramped if it was cropped closer. Great idea for a shot too!

Thank you everyone...by the way, did anyone notice the wingwalker? This was probably my favorite part of the airshow.

Thanks to all of you, it was my first time shooting an airshow, and my first time using an F5, which I have grown to love. I would have tried a polarizing filter, Amitava, but I do not own one. Thanks for all your comments, though.

Thanks guys.
This is actually an old abandoned bridge down in the florida keys. The tones are basically the result of a little photoshop playing around.

Very nice...I almost want to recomend a larger depth of field, but somehow I think it looks better this way...

I like the simplicity yet beauty of the shot.

Absolutely stunning photo. Im curious though, how close were you and how much closed could you have gotten?
If you were at the edge of the water, then NM. But generally I find that for shots like this, where there is great colour in the sky especially, I like to get very wide, about 18mm and then physically close the distance for composition. Granted, it will distort straight lines, but that can be to your advantage.

Great work!!

thanks so much everyone...I am still very new to photography and it is a great encouragement to read your comments.
As for the DOF, admitidly it would have been betted had the NIKON word been sharper, but this was not really much of a planned, posed shot. It was just a candid shot that I took while we were shooting a fly-in of aircraft for an airshow (hence the fast looking reflection)

Thanks Becky, as for the lower angle shot, its one of those things that I kicked myself for not taking, it would have been a lot nicer. Ahh well, you live and you learn.

Thanks Sebastiaan, it was a real spur of the moment kind of photo, so I was really lucky to capture her as she was just running out of the frame, intimidated by the camera.

I personally actually like the blue tiles, I think a plain black background would have been very typical, almost predictably so. The blue tiles really compliment the green bottles well and I think they also help in highliting the condensation on them, thus making me crave for a bottle of Heiniken right now. The only thing is that I would have cropped off the small arcs right at the bottom of the picture, I find them slightly distracting. Alright...gotta go grab a cold one...
