sony camera in night shot mode, which still captures some color...played around with the levels to get the colors in black in white, not grey scaling it....then in the hue/sat in green turned the saturation all the way down, then in the master hue i increased it to my liking of what i wanted the sky to look like without changing the other whites, and saturation up to about 25 to 35 again to my liking, the lightened it a little tiny bit, and then auto leveled it... then tweaked the curves a little. thanks

your curves are blown out a little. the flow of landscapes and clounds are just wonderful. i love this comp, however, i can see the horizon is a little off and curves blown. such a clean look to it which i like. did you convert your nikon? im so unhappy with my canon. its the only canon i shoot with and im thinking of converting a nikon d200. or going back to a simple sony. i like this one very much. love the clouds. cant eait till storm season here in FL.

i converted it myself... hmm yes a woman can do it. i got the glass from life pixel... and it took me about 3 hours to do it. i printed out the how to instructions and taped all the screws to the corrisponding instructions and it worked great. made the put back together a lot easier. it was quite scarey having the sensor in my hands. but it was worth it because i never used the camra anyway, and ir seems to be all i shoot. i have a canon 10d im going to do next. just to practice. it was 100$ for the glass. that and silicone and a soldering iron is all i needed. thanks for your comments all. the happy holidays from florida.
i do like color IR Robbie. i like it a lot. however, black and white is where i seem to fit. i got over the color ir conversions so fast. dont know why just did. pb

paul, yes i have a canon 350 xt. ive had for a year, and didnt use it at all. i use a nikon d200 to shoot everything else. and as you see i shoot mostely ir, so converting my canon was more than a good idea. i got the mirror online, and changed it myself. it was a bit challenging. you have to dig thru the camera to get to the sensor,,, yikes!, and take the mirror off. It was only 100 bucks for the ir mirror. it took me all of 3 hours to do it. the recent posts are the shots i got after the conversion this past weekend. there is a HUGE difference between this and my sony that i was using. nice to not have any filters. there is less contrast and more mid tones and greys. i like it, however, they seem more soft focus than the sony. hopefull i get used to it. thanks again priscilla
