yes you can do ir with your xti. i have one and i used it with long exposures and it worked. i longed to have one that was converted, so i ripped it apart and converted it myself. but yeah, you can use the hell out of it. email me if you have other questions

Yep thats at the fruitville library. thanks for your comments
you can do ir with your 350 xti. you will need at tripod and an infrared filter. I use a hoya r72.
the exposures wil be 10-30 seconds, but if you really like ir it is worth it.
I use the sony cameras because they have a night shot mode enabling you to shoot infrared. i also have a dedicated infrared camera that i converted myself. i dont like them as much tho.
ask me anything if you need help.

Robbie,
Yes i bought a 10$ attachment to put the nikon lens on the canon. they have ones that will control the lens, but this is manual focus.
because it ir...its a no brainer. i have no lenses for my canon. i want to get rid of it so i never got any lenses.

anson, looking at your new photos i notice the light spot in the middle of the photo...i got this on my sonys when i put the ir filter right over the lens. had something to do with the light bouncing back at the lens. i put a ND filter on there first in front of the ir filter and it fixed it.
i like this shot great little town. thanks

this is a great subject.
it would be worth going back when the sun is in a different position. make those greens glow!
the trees are muddy and grey. underexposure makes working with ir so hard.
