Hi Meigy,
I like your composition on this one, but you did loose some detail and a bit blurry on the image. If I may make a suggestion, on your camera, try to do a spot meter and for bright birds such as these, you may want to do a -.3 or -.7 EV so that you don't loose the details. Depending the light above the bird, you may do either matrix or spot meter. I'm not sure how the D50 performs, but I'm sure it has the same basic functions as the D70 and D200.
Also just do aperture priority, and let the shutter work it for you. This will help you get a sharp image of the eyes. Not sure how you shoot, but sometimes you need to control the setting to get the results you want! Good luck!

i think this place was realy good i wish you took this photo bigger then you took that you didnt need to symetry it

This is a nice creative approach for a fireworks shot. I like the transition from the bright left side to the dark right side. The trails of sparks form such an intricate pattern, and the starbursts add much impact.
