to be on your own in lijiang, you just have to wake up very early. the tour groups start arriving around 8 am. anytime before that and things are relatvely peaceful and quiet.

Hi Tom, very intense portrait, and a very well captured one at that. I like the concised view, it places a very strong emphasis on the expression, piercing eyes and the inquisitive pose of this man.

Weird that no-one has left a comment yet...

Cheers,

Hugo

Anson, you are absolutely right, I will give a try, or at least I will try to tune down for that portion to be blended with the dark background. Thanks for the suggestion!

Tom: An elegantly presented delicacy of a flower. Gentle and delicate colors, with a hint of a stem. One of the best presented flowers I have seen here. I might suggest a little cloning to remove the portion of leaf in the upper left. It does not distract from this beauty, however. Anson

The sparse use of light makes this shot look like a painting. At the same time the quality of the colours in the water make the whole very precious. A beautiful creation!

This was quite unique experiences for me, there are more than 1,000 rooms inside the Palace - only 10~15% opened to the public right now. If you rest well at first day, you shouldn't have major problem during your visit over there... You will feel the spirit...

Magnificent! I've seen this palace in numberless documentaries on TV and I still wonder how would it be to see it in reality! A superb shot, Tom!

The "Old Town (1)" gave a good image of the street in B&W, but I prefer this one. It is in fact a better rendering of what we all believe that a small street in Old Cina would look like.Beautiful contrast of grey in the cobblestones and walls and that famous Chinese red. Well done!

The angle is good and the cropping even better! I'm very impressed with the way you looked at it, showing that even a wall can be interesting.Definitely those roofs have a lot of character!

John, actually I thought just cut off little from the bottom, so the light area at bottom right won't get eye's attention.
Thx for your comments. -Tom
