Oh, how this image makes me long for the winters of home. I sincerely miss the mood and stillness of a quiet, cold, winter's day. When all you can hear is the soft rustle of snow settling on the branches of trees around you.

Instead, I'm here. Where it's 75 degrees on November 13th. **sigh**

Oh yeah, I love the photo. Couldn't you tell? :)

I love the selective light in this image, Becky.

It's great to see you posting again, too! Tell your hubby to get of his butt and send me an e-mail will ya?! I've been wondering if he fell in a hole somewhere! :-D

Marco! So great to see you posting again! I bet you're glad to be back in a place where you can do so fairly regularly!

I love the classic profile and the lighting is great, too.

E-mail me sometime and let me know how you're doing, will ya?

All the best,
Jake

Haha!

True, I suppose. And who couldn't resist taking a picture of such a delicate life-form, really?

I have to be careful with what I tell her, Doyle! She's one of Medina's good friends and--judging by my comments on a previous image of mine--I'm on thin ice as it is! :-P

lol!

Great macro, especially considering the lens you caught it with.

Well done and congratulations! :-D

An interesting angle on these kernels, but a pleasant one. I like the contrast in color between the corn and sky. Personally, I'm not a fan of the blurring/vignetting around the corners of this image, but perhaps it's something that can't be helped.

Well done, and keep up the great work!

HAHAH! Doyle, you crack me up...not that it's a difficult thing mind you. I'm not worried about my exile to the couch as the ONLY reason I post things like this is because I know she checks!

:-D

It might be a tad soft. Seems alright to me, but with the low lighting, my focus may have been a bit off. Also, handheld with as slow a shutter speed as I used, there might be a little shake.

Savannah was a great time. I've never been there before this weekend. I'd love to get back and see it when I had a bit more time. We really only got to see the touristy side of things...River St. etc...would be neat to delve into a bit more of the history and architecture. :-D

Thanks for the comment! :-)

Thanks for your feedback, Txules. I considered cropping it as you suggested and tried several times, but I felt it takes away from the vertical nature of the image. I may try cloning out the awnings to leave the format as is.

Thanks again! :-D

Hey Carlen! I like these two shots as the colors are superb! I agree with Doyle on the cropping issue, however. I think the negative space and dark table are a little overwhelming in the lower right. I like his crop better.

However, I do like your photo as is! The d.o.f. draws your eyes from foreground to background quite well. I can almost smell the gourds!

Well done, and keep it up! :-D
