I like this composition, and view. The boat in the foreground is just the thing you need to add an extra special touch to the shot.
I agree the full-size shot needs sharpening, but its not as soft as the other one with the full length jetty. Were you in the water with your tripod? Or was this hand held?
I always have a really tough time keeping my tripod from sinking in the wet sand....keep forgetting to put the sand shoes on it....
You've certainly done an excellent job with the colour and the composition, this would look great framed.

I think this capture has great impact and well control over exposure get such amazing effect and details, if something can be said is that the frame texture and colour clashing with the beautiful shot.

Nice shot John, it seems to drag the viewer into it. Don't like the frame on this though, makes it look as if the phot is sitting on a carpet or something.

Hi John,
great seascape, I can really see depth in this one. Only one thing though...if the rocks in the front were lighter of tone they'd stand more out and add even more depth?

Very nice composition. Another nice work from you. But in this picture I'm a bit concerened about the blurry movements in the background, doesn't look like wind since the houses a far also affected.
