When I saw this image on thumbnail ... it was like WOW ... that is SOMETHING. But seeing the larger version I find some things that disturb me: the models expression is not exactly what I would expect in this type of "airy", poetic image, the models pose and overall the model ... She is very beautiful but for me not for this type of photo.. Also digital manipulation is too apparent ... oversharpened and not natural for me ... Excuse me, just my opinion.. Are we expected to give only positive comments?

)) It's not that bad scan ... I did two things with this photo in PS: blur and increased contrast to oversaturate whites. I like it as it is ... I have lots of sharp images of my girlfriend but like this one the most.

Hi, I like it very much ... And don't understand Joe's comment here. In my eyes it is perfecly sharp, it is somehow grainy but looks like some compression or other digital problem ... I don't believe that properly developed Delta film could be so grainy. Maybe the sky on the left is too dark but it's a minor problem.

This is a beautiful clean portrait. I like things that do not have to be supercomplicated, supersofisticated or whatever to be interesting - they are simply their own class, like this one. wish one day I will be able to do portraits like this (just a dream).

The tonal range of this is exceptional. The composition is very clasic but it looks simply great! I love it.

Thank you all for kind words. I just posted another one (my personal favourite)from this place: http://www.usefilm.com/showphoto.php?id=103288 - it is not as sharp as this one and is even more overexposed but I like it for composition. I took photos in a destroyed factory and saw these two dogs tied to the "car". I spoke to the owners of the dogs, they were gathering some old bricks there and were very friendly - the dogs were not in trouble. All photos came out overexposed - it was a very freezing day, may the battery froze and the meter in the camera did not work properly. I have had problems to get reasonable prints - all of them are lacking contrast and some of the them (not this one) sharpness - I had to adjust it digitally (levels, USM). I have tried sephia toning several times but never liked the output. On some (very dark) images I like indigo tone - will show you my fathers's (toned) portrait soon ;-))

Aimar, I like this one, thru I wish there was something (little dirt?) that disturbs the stillness in the foreground. The color and the reflection is great..

Aiman, I appreciate you comment and understand what you mean by clutterd image and harsh lighting. I beliele you would say something else if you see my large photo on classical bromium paper. I must say this image is my most favorite to date for two reasons: 1) It is complex. I know that web presentation of very small images (480points) tends to make large well defined main objects to be attractive. I started to present my images on web just shortly after I started to photograh, now I see it formed my "style" I am not very happy about that and want to break it. 2) My most favourite photographer is famous Czech photographer Josef Sudek, he was a genius. I received several comments about this image and also another one that I am going to post just today "it reminds me of Sudek". I have still not found my style and if my style would be compared to Sudek I would be VERY proud. I love the same objects as hi did, THIS comes from my heart. .. quite long, sorry to bother you all...

Barry, you are right, it is a petrolium storage tank in Mainz, Germany. Thank you you all for nice comments but to be honest I am not very happy that this photo is my most "succesfull" ;-) photo to date (and it is not only here but also among my friends). It's a technical thing not comming from my inside, just a play of industrial building and light..

Thanks to all. The only different crop I was able to think of is this one. It was taken inside monkey house in a ZOO, it was lighted by natural light coming through large glass windows in roof of the building. It was quite long exposure 1/2 or 1/4, the monkey was really PATIENT (maybe also bored). It did not look like a happy monkey, too sad..

Yes, she is very beautiful and your portrait is very nice as well. I like the high contrast and unsharpeness (sorry if it's wrong spelling), large grain. I wouldn't mind if the contrast was just a little bit lower, mainly on here face.
