Hi Sam,
I'd love some composition pointers on how to crop when you can't fit an entire landmark in the frame. I usually shoot way too many images of different parts of a building and I don't like any of them when I'm done. They all look like snapshots, like a person with a hand or foot cropped off.
If you want to share some wisdom, I'd love to listen.

neat effects, I like the glow of the lights, I'm not sure about the angle though, I'd either like it straight or a more exaggerated angle.
cheers, nicole

Hi Tracy welcome to usefilm. I like the interesting coloring you used on this. I think Sam has made some good points but I find the only thing I would change is the horizon line. Use the free transform tool and give this a bit of a spin and then crop again. Welcome on board.

Hi Paul, Thanks for the feedback. I had a look at your portfolio and it is by far one of the best that I have come across here at usefilm. I like the diversity in your subjects, it gives your folio a good balance...something for everyone! At the moment I'm trying to suss out portraiture, birdy boy would have to be one of my favourites. Great work!

The good viewing angle give dynamism to the picture. I also like the brownish hue. The whole picture is very Parisien. Best, Gy.

A nice BW rendering of Prague's Old Town. The viewing angle is good, technical details are also satisfactory. The bustling crowd fills the historical place with life. Cheers, György

I think you have quite a few good pic, Tracy. This one conveys pretty well the atmosphere of that world famous place. At the same time the bluish hue provides a mild surprise, since those who know Florence and the Ponte Vecchio would associate it with brownish colors. This way you achieve that viewers will have a fresh impression. Best regards, György

Hi, Tracy, What I did first was use PS Elements to decrease the brightness and increase the contrast overall a small amount, about -18 and +18, respectively. Then I selected the sky with the magic wand set at a tolerance of 50. I had to do select one sky portion and then add on others (shift-click). For the parts in the trees it's easiest to zoom in on different sections and then add them in. Then I simply decreased the brightness of the sky to -52. I hope this helps. Steve

T think it's basically a very nice picture from a nice angle. My only suggestions, Tracy, would be to increase the contrast overall and to tone down the brightness of the sky. It would make the top of the building stand out more and better balance the sky with the dark bottom of the picture. I made a quicky solution:
